The game looks really good so far. The presentation of this dev diary is freaking ridiculous. -pan the camera to the left aaaaaand queue dramatic nerd pose... Put on the glasses aaaand screen gibberish..."
maybe im still in sleep mode, but i read that headline as "xenos vs marinos". my mind pictured a platoon of dan marinos throwing footballs at aliens.
The "putting on glasses and tilt your head" intro is some honky ass shit. They should really stop doing that. Game looks neat though. Wish I could play as Vasquez.
I've got such a bad feeling about this, it looks pretty scripted and doesn't even visually look that great. The HUD and the way people move screams OLD FPS. There doesn't seem to be any exploration- i'd easily trade off graphics for exploration. It's really sad because they could easily make a more open (i.e whole space stations/ships to explore, objectives to carry out in any order and with different approaches) AVP2 felt pretty open. This looks like a straight forward COD style fps with xenos. Don't make me laugh about unique characters either- No women? in a series that traditionally has strong women at the forefront? Stupid.
Having to sit through 30 seconds of a Para Norman add almost made watching this video not worth it. Then the three minutes of talking heads popped up and that definitely made it not worth it.
