Sounds good to me!
I haven't the foggiest as to why he namechecked Half-Life 2, as the turret/defense scene in Episode Two was a tiny part of the entire game, not it's main focus. Though, it could have something to do with the fact that they've shit on VALVe before and this could be some way of apologizing, name-checking TWO of their games.
Hell, if it wasn't for VALVe, Gearbox would be but a stain on toilet paper. The thing that put them anywhere near the map was the Half-Life: Opposing Force expansion. Other than that, they've been garbage. Borderlands was their one saving grace. I've never played a Duke Nukem game other than 3D and it was meh, so I couldn't care less about DNF.
Much like Sonic, I think Jim's one of the only people on Dtoid to care about Aliens.
That said, I'm not stopping you from enjoying Gearboxes attempt to ruin one of YOU favorite things too! :D
Randy Pitchford is the man but if this game doesn't match the hype he's giving it then I may lose faith in gearbox.
I wasn't expecting dnf to be gods gift to gaming but Pitchford should have seen the shit that his studio would be responsible for and hushed his mouth a spell.
"They should have stopped at the first."
OH COME ON!
Aliens > Alien
And while I'm dropping truth bombs:
Aliens > Alien > Predator > Alien 3 > Alien vs Predator > Predator 2 > Alien: Resurrection > Aliens vs Predator: Requiem
^FACTS
True but let's be honest, they pushed a shitty game out that they hyper up to the nines.
If Randy had said that it wasnt going to be stellar then I personally wouldn't have been so disappointed. I know he is going to talk big about a game with his studio attached to it but the game was a cluster fuck and there's no way he didn't oversee the tidying up and collating of the assets and realise it was going to be shit on toast.
Hell, look at the delay for the beta, that was (for me at least) a sure sign the devs weren't happy with the game. I bought and played dnf and there were times when I actually enjoyed it but it wasn't the game we were being hyped up for and that's cast a shadow over the words of Randy Pitchford for me.
I don't think any developer makes/publishes a game thinking "Man, this game is shit. Stupid piece of crap." Maybe after all is said and done (like good ol' Molly!), but never while getting their game out of the gate.
Predator in at third?
I'm sorry, but not if Jesse "Goddamn Sexual Tyrannosaurus" Ventura has something to say about that.

I liked Duke Nukem Forever, I can only imagine a man with so much emotion/heart involved with the project, as Pitchford is (he left 3D Realms and started Gearbox not long after DNF went into development), probably liked it even more.
Stop acting like Randy gave us Superman 64 and barked like it was Battlefield 3. He never once compared DNF to any current market game, you got your own hopes up.
GTFO NOOB.
It doesn't make you cool to hate on a series that shaped so much of what we know in a lot of media forms.
@Randy Dixon
WRONG.
Aliens>Alien>Predator>Predator 2>Alien Ressuection>Alien 3>AvP>Predators>AvP:Requiem (Because in Predators, Adrien Brody did us all a favor and DIDN'T have sex with an alien/mutant)
Alien Resurrection isn't that bad. I'd slot it in between Alien 3 and Alien vs Predator. The rest of your list is correct, however.
Predators was monumentaly better than Alien vs Predator which was the movie form of sickle cell.
I think Predator 2, thought cheesy and deliciously 90's action, was better than Alien vs Predator which, again......sickle cell.
Aliens: Rollercoaster of a film, favourite film of all time, hits all the right notes of horror, action, drama and even a hint of romance.
Alien 3: Theatrical version is a pile of hashed together shit, Assembly cut is a near masterpiece yet extremely grim and nihilistic.
Alien Resurrection: Could have been way better if the Joss Whedon script hadn't been butchered. Great cast and performances though. Has a very creepy vibe to it, but at the same time it's not very scary.
Alien Vs Predator: Awful, awful, awful film, every scene I am picking holes in the plot, or even forgetting why I'm supposed to care for the characters. Not to mention crappy CGI fight scenes.
Aliens Vs Predator Requiem: Why? Just why? Biggest sin to the franchise is creating the Predalien's reproductive system, it doesn't make any sense. Also the Predators' in this film act mildly retarded. The teenage boy/girl love story made my brain hemmorage.
Predator: Great nostalgic film, still has great pacing and atmosphere. I actually take Arnie seriously in this film. Great use of hidden enemy and eventual reveal.
Predator 2: Flawed but entertaining. The urban setting took away alot of the atmosphere of the 1st film, but the action and story were still not bad. Great ending too!
Predators: Worthy sequel, bit annoyed with the UBER-Predator subplot that was never really full explored. Lawrence Fishbourne was barely in it :( Gory and suspenseful.
Thanks man, I actually wrote a sort of looking back, review/rant thingy about Aliens a few months ago if anyone want's to have a look.
