Will have to watch some Dragonball Z later to make up for the deficiency.
to be fair graphically it looks a bit dated right now, so by 2013 i'd say it's definitely going to look like shit. the game has clearly been in development for too long to avoid that now.
so yeah the graphics don't look great, but overall it's looking pretty cool.
The last AvP from Rebellion wasn't exactly up to par.
Also, we don't need multiplayer.
if you like the way it looks then bully for you, but it's hard to deny that they aren't exactly looking "cutting edge". as i said it doesn't mean the game is going to suck, and you're right about atmosphere being more important, but are graphics not a pretty big part of creating the atmosphere? good lighting, details in the textures etc are important factors in creating the immersion that a game like this requires.
I'm deffo in the camp where graphics totally aren't everything, but in FPS where there is kind of alot of competition it's nice if they look up there with the best of them - Unless there's some kind of reason not to, as in a massive open world to explore- This is sort of looking like a no effort on rails generic fps with an aliens licence attached at the moment. I don't remember the older trailers looking that rubbish- weren't they on about some crazy amazing lighting fx they were prototyping in the older previews? So atmosphere - blocky graphics with no textures are kind of going to kill it for me .
And no, Jim. Alien 3 was fucking terrible. Both versions.
Looks alright - but if they're pushing it for next year Feb they better be doing some serious polishing to it - cause otherwise it's just gonna be dated. (already looks dated)
Better Graphics = Shorter Game
