Alien Hominid goes half price as Deal of the Week on XBLA photo

If you own an Xbox 360 and haven't played Alien Hominid yet, shame on you. Shame, I say. You should feel terrible. It's tragic that you would ignore such a fantastic game, especially when it's coming from some of the nicest and hardest-working guys in this industry. You got Castle Crashers, right? So what's the deal with not having this? That was a pretty rotten thing to do, mister, and if I had a garden hose and a jar of angry hornets, so help me I'd ...

Ahem. Anyway, the time to redeem yourself for missing this game is March 30th, when it will officially become Xbox Live's "Deal of the Week," and go on sale for half price. That's 400 MS points, which is far less than what you'd pay for any number of much crappier games. The special price will be available all week, so that's plenty of time for you to stop kicking puppies and burning orphanages long enough to download it. You bad person. It's not too late to make things right, you know. I'm shaking my hornet jar.

Does this only apply to Gold members, or everyone?

I adored Castle Crashers, so this is very relevant to my interests.

I already have it and I must warn new buyers that there is no online co-op, only local co-op. Other than that its one of the best XBLA games out there.

If this game is just like the Newgrounds version, then I'll pass.

@Chronic:
Oh ho ho, no.
This game is fucking amazing, beautifully animated, and a hell of a challenge. It will obliterate the Newgrounds game from your memory.
My only complaint is that I don't have a 360...

I have it on the GC and XBLA and GBA, and would probably buy it again if I could.

I love this game.

@ Jon Holmes, I wish they released the GBA version in the US, where's you get yours?

I can attest that this game is leaps and bounds better than the Flash version.

Also, one of the bonus mini-games included, PDA Games, is amazing. My wife and I have probably sunk a good 40 hours into it, and it's 4-players. That you can play online, not just locally.

Not to mention the fact that you'll unlock Alien Hominid in Castle Crashers when you nab this.

Does the XBLA version have anything over the PS2/Gamecube versions?
stafax's Avatar
stafax at 03/27/2009 05:14
@Rusty Ghia

I think the only difference is that it's in HD and has online coop. Other than those two additions (and of course achievements) I haven't heard of anything different. I personally wont ever get this. No point when I already own it for PS2.

I've only ever played the flash game. And that was pretty and fun for a bit. But as I recall too hard and I got bored of it quickly. Don't think I'll bother with this.

Thats cool. I had rented the PS2 version when it came out and was demoralized with my friend on co-op. WTF is up with sharing lives? (or was it continues, can't remember) Grrr!!

Anyways, at half price I'll probably get this and try it again solo. If nothing else I can unlock the Alien in Castle Crashers finally.

@stafax

As I stated earlier, there is no online co-op, except for in one of the minigames. If you want to play the main campaign with a friend, you need to bring him over and sit his (or her) ass on the couch next to you.
