Alan Wake PC version plans 'are currently open' photo

Earlier this month, a Remedy Entertainment representative teased that the studio would be making some sort of official comment about the PC version of Alan Wake. We have suspicions that the PC version is no more and we’re sorta right about that. In a new statement given to several Web sites not named Destructoid, Remedy said “PC plans are currently open” and they “would love to see a PC version available,” but it’s up to Microsoft to decide the game’s platform destiny.

“It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake,” the statement reads. “PC plans are currently open, and therefore it's safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher.”

Sounds like there won’t be a PC version, at least, for a good while. Microsoft didn’t even acknowledge this version of Alan Wake at its E3 2009 presentation.

Here’s to actually playing Alan Wake in Spring 2010, though. We look forward to it.

Hah, "open" just like how the possibility that I will be eaten by a giant air-breathing squid wearing a monocle singing hollaback girl is completely open.

the real question now is not "when is alan wake PC coming", more like "when it does, will anyone still give a shit?"

Damn, I guess Microsoft finally realised that it isn't a 360 exclusive if its also on PC. To bad for me because I won't be playing the game I wanted most of those shown at the MS conference at E3.

Forgot to add that this game was used as a tech demo for Intel's Quad core processors three years ago.

It's a bit bullshit that it isn't coming any more.

How about they at least release the 360 version first?

Most of the Xbox games eventually do make their way to the PC... though not necessarily on release of the Xbox version. I guess it's the ease of a PC port and the extra money that can be made.

Did Remedy run out of money because these took so long and need to get Microsoft to fund them or something? Or maybe it's because this looks like some bizarre Resident Evil 4 style game so it's not even relevant to PC's anymore.

I've waited this long, I guess I don't mind as long as it comes eventually. Plenty of other titles in the mean time.

Straw rather. Anyway this is total bullshit. Microsoft needs to stop trying to "compete" AGAINST ITS OWN GODDAMN PLATFORM YOU FUCKING IDIOTS.
