Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 coming in 2010 first half photo

Waiting for hot Xbox 360 exclusives like Alan Wake or Crackdown 2? According to Microsoft's Minister of Propaganda, you won't have to wait all that long. Aaron Greenberg has stated that both games will be hitting the streets in the crowded first half of 2010. Great news ... but will our wallets withstand the onslaught?

"Starting in January we have like a AAA exclusive title pretty much every month for the first half of the year such as Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell:Conviction, Alan Wake and Crackdown 2," says Greenberg. "We also know we have Halo:Reach and Fable 3 coming later that year."

Retail chain GameStop backs up Greenberg's words, listing Alan Wake for April and Crackdown 2 for May. So, it seems you can add two more games to your massive 2010 list.

I can't wait for Crackdown 2!! I was surprised with how much I loved the original game (bought it for the Halo 3 beta). If Crackdown 2 lives up to the hype, it might be my game of the year next year.

Woah wait.

Fable 3 is coming out next year? As in 2010?

Why?

because of Borderland, I still haven't gotten into MW2, Dragon Ages on my 360 and Uncharted 2 and Demon Soul on my PS3. Mass Effect 2 is something I am looking forward to so I don't know when I am going to have time to play Crackdown 2 and Splint Cell. Crackdown 2 is anything like Crackdown 1 then I know me and my buddies on 360 will never have time to play other games. WIN!

PS3 is the least played console at home. I don't even watch BD on PS3 b/c I watch it on PC while I am doing other craps.

I just want to thank you again Microsoft for taking traditional PC developer Remedy's newest game Alan Wake, announced for PC and 360, and making it a 360 exclusive.

Also thanks for releasing new Halo and Fable games when the last two have still not been ported to your bastard child gaming platform.

Love it! You guys are so awesome!

Crackdown 2 is a definite buy, but I'm still a little iffy on Alan Wake. It LOOKS like the kind of game I would love, but I the level of info about the it is still curiously low. Geez, there are just entirely too many potentially fantastic game coming out next year, and that's just counting the ones that we know of. Plus I'm planning to get a PS3 and a Wii next year, to go along with the stack of unplayed 360 and DS games I have. AND I haven't even bought Borderlands, Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Spirit Tracks, or Magna Carta 2. It's just ridiculous!

360 took the year off this year pretty much. Hell, even in MS's E3 presentation, like 3/4 of the games they announced were all coming out next year. You could tell they knew this year was a lost cause (Anyone who argues that 360 had a better year than PS3 is a fucking idiot, and this coming from someone who only owns a 360 but wants a PS3 very badly). Makes me excited for next year, though. The only thing I cannot stand about this generation is all the great games that come out within such close proximity of each other. I never had to deal with this last generation, I'll tell you that much.

I just recently discovered the total awesomeness that is Crackdown, so I can't wait for Crackdown 2. Alan Wake, on the other hand... Don't care about it. I remember watching teasers for that game like four years ago and didn't care back then either.

Crackdown 2 better have the harpoon gun and more melee options than a stupid kick. Still going to buy that and SSF4 on release most likely.

While I agree that Microsoft is often a bitch with its exclusives, I'm not sure you can really call Remedy a "traditional" PC dev, since 2/3 of their previous games (Max Payne 1 & 2) were multiplat (PS2, Xbox and PC) and I think their only other game was Death Rally, which came out in the mid-90s? (Sidenote: Death Rally was the fucking bomb.) Granted, they've got the whole 3Dmark backstory, which is certainly PC-centric, but their recent history has shown they're just as much console-oriented as PC...

Hmm. I'm sure I had a point, but I seem to have lost it. It takes me too long to comment with this fucking phone. I always forget what I'm trying to say.

Left 4 Dead 2 was easily the best console exclusive this year. Don't give me that tomb raider rip off uncharted 2, it doesn't come close.

I'll never play uncharted 2, but it looks great. L4D2 I'm getting as a Xmas gift along with borderlands. 2010 is going to be an epic year for 360.

Not really. Its more of an Diablo-like RPG. And Fallout 3 is just an 'RPG' for Console FPS tards.

I totally agree, and that is why it is awesome. If you can find something wrong enough with Borderlands to not want to play it then you don't like video games enough.

so you want dumbed down games with all the good bits stripped out?

I can name plenty wrong with it. no story, no interesting characters or side quests, the shooting feels really slow and the enemies are incredibly repetitive. when a game's only claim to fame is it has millions of slightly differening variations of guns, there's something wrong.

and Fallout 3 is better than the other fallouts, and only idiotic PC players who can't admit their beige box is out of vogue and nearly irrelevant would disagree.
