She did fine. That dude was a bit embarrassing but this Aisha Tyler person... I dunno who she is, never heard of her before, but she did pretty good. I didn't mind her at all. She can at least deliver a bad joke better than Reggie Fils-Aime and Jack Tretton, gotta give her that much.
I can't imagine she's surprised this is happening to her though. I think we're all fully aware of the fact that the internet is a very wonderful thing full of myriad splendors, and the worst fucking people on the face of planet Earth.

Aisha did seem fairly self aware during the presser, but she was paid to do a job and she did it. Personally, I think she's great, so my bias is on display, but the script she was reading from was flat out terrible and the whole thing felt like a Saturday morning Christian music video show from the 90's.
Tristrix put it fairly well when he said that E3 brings out the worst in gamers. The presser was typical Ubisoft, but would any of us have had it any other way?

She still did a horrible job though, didn't sound like she cared about videogames at all. I think the ESA should just get Trey and Matt to host all the conferences from now on

I liked her and never doubted that she was an actual gamer... and I appreciate that they sought out someone that WAS an actual gamer and not just a spokemodel or pretty face or worst yet, a suit.

To be honest, Aisha Tyler wasn't the problem. It was that Youtbe "celebrity" guy who spent most of the time being unfunny, as well as interrupting her at every opportunity. I hope she can return next year on her own, as she was a much better speaker than most other examples (Also, I love her as Lana in Archer, which is the funniest show on TV now.)

She is awesome. How do people not know that she's a gamer¿ I remember her fragging some people in Halo 3 and Reach. I thought Ubisoft got her to co-host because she actually is a gamer.
I honestly didn't have a problem with her hosting the conference. However, the other co-host's forced awkwardness was terrible.
I was a brief snippet of some television awards show the other night, and it amazes me how respected actors don't get the same amount of shit for their awful presentations in comparison to those at videogame conferences.
I mean, I sat through a fairly awkward and downright unfunny exchange between Alexander Armstrong, a comedian of all things, and respected actress (and may I say, still sexy as hell for her age) Jenny Agutter...and nobody gives them shit for that. In a two hour show that's full of badly timed exchanges and nervous readings.
And before someone says, "Well, that's tradition, look at the Oscars." Sure, it gets ribbed, but I don't think people threw some shit around on YouTube to an extend similar to E3 presenters. Well, unless it's IMDB. That's a given.

I would call such a response a proof of successful trolling, because that is what trolling is all about, is it a good thing, most likely not still its successful trolling.
I'm surprised by both the hate for Toby Turner and the support for Aisha as well. I personally liked all but the beginning of Ubisoft's conference, I thought it was the best of E3, really.

Frankly, after last year, I actually LIKED Ubisoft's choice. The jokes were awful, as ever, but they weren't as bad as the gut-churning mess last year.
I would argue that Gears doesn't exactly prove that you're a "hardcore" gamer since there's a lot of exposure and marketing behind the series, and I would also argue that sex is irrelevant, but if someone attacked her for being a female black host, then she should defend herself. It's not like she's blaming gamers for being a female hating group of bastards but rather addressing a small group of assholes and sticking up for herself. I personally think she's still on the second layer out of a ton of layers, but its not like everyone has the time to look for games like Serious Sam which are quality products, so in a way it is understandable.

She wasn't terrible, but the jokes certainly were. E3 now has that incredibly phony feeling to it, like the Oscars and all of the other awards show. It crossed the line from showing off your latest products and innovations into full on public masturbation, but with humor aimed at the Spike TV crowd.
For those who seem to be missing the satire, using the "basement dwellers" insult is both a nod into knowing the community as well as showing the ignorance in the stupid stereotypical comments thrown her way, and how it makes her feel. I hate to explain the "joke", but it seems more than a few missed it.
