Quantcast

I'm still unsure if I love MMORPGs or if I just have an addictive personality, but if there's one thing I'm sure of it's that I'm always excited to hear about the next big patch. At San Diego Comic Con 2010 I had the opportunity to talk with Andrew Beegle, who's a Community Manager on the title, and hear about what's been happening with Aion Online's 1.9 patch and their upcoming 2.0 patch, including the ever elusive solo instances.

Take a look at the video to find out more, and be sure to take note on what he's wearing when he showed off some of the game. Tiger suit? Chainsaw? This is definitely some Aion Online B-Roll you're not going to want to miss.

Aion is shit. No patch will ever fix this.

Never played it, but the whole single player instance thing is actually really tempting to me. I've played WoW on and off for a little while but ever since Gearscore (AKA digital penis number) came around I just stopped caring - not needing people to get geared up sounds like a great idea to me.

@Electrium
With Triumph badges now, it's very easy to get 5,000 Gearscore and run anything you want - just run some random heroics for two days.

@Enzi
Aion was a pretty solid game up until level 25, when it became a super grind-fest. A series of patches fixed that, and made it a little more tolerable, but the game lacked end-game content outside of PVP-ing.

This 2.0 update should be a pretty hefty amount of content: it's literally a free expansion from the Korean version. Outside of WoW and EVE, I'd recommend Aion.

I played aion when it first came out. Being a dual wielding rouge for dps was pretty cool. Got to about 25 come to think of it, before i just quit. MMO's don't hold me no matter how fun they start out.
