Ah, there's our Deep Down E3 2014 trailer

1:30 PM on 06.11.2014

There was no mention of Deep Down during the free-to-play segment of Sony's E3 press conference, much to our concern. The game is still alive and well, however -- just not here in the West. Capcom hasn't made any announcements yet, anyway.

All the same, we got a "new" E3 2014 trailer for the gorgeous PS4 action-RPG and, thing is, much of its footage is recycled from a prior video. Whatever! It's good footage!

This week, a recent tweet by Capcom's Japanese Twitter account for Deep Down stated "We apologize for the service other than in Japan is not yet determined."

My interest in the game slipped once word got out that it's free to play -- and that (partial) future New York City setting thing is mighty odd -- but I am still interested.

Deep Down is getting a Japanese beta this summer

Two new screens for Deep Down are out in the wild, compliments of producer Kazunori Sugiura's Twitter account. But Sugiura also had a few updates for the game, noting that Capcom is currently being "intensively developed...more

This Deep Down trailer has plenty of action

Deep Down is coming along nicely, and now you can get a better look at some of the more terrifying creatures in the game. That includes a Mimic treasure chest monster, giant abominations, and tiny gross slug monsters. Everything is looking great so far, and as a Souls fan, I can't wait to give it a try at some point. Hopefully it'll be localized sometime this year.more

Capcom's Deep Down has been on many gamer's radar since it was first announced back at the system's unveiling. As Sony's latest console edges closer and closer to its Japanese this month, so does new information regarding the...more

Tighten up those graphics: Deep Down delayed in Japan

You know, I keep forgetting that Deep Down technically hasn't been announced for release outside of Japan. It's surely coming, though, and besides its reliance on a free-to-play model (I'd rather just pay up front, thanks) I'...more

Deep Down trademarked for North America and Europe

I don't think anyone ever doubted that Capcom's online PS4 RPG Deep Down would be coming to the west. You didn't, did you?  It was never officially announced, but they showed it at the PS4's US debut, showed it to wester...more

This Deep Down Prologue trailer is pretty neat

It's been awhile since we've heard anything about Capcom's online next-gen game Deep Down. I played their Tokyo Game Show demo, but that demo was so short that it was hard to form an opinion on the game. All I can tell you s...more

Deep Down can theoretically produce infinite dungeons

I still can't grasp the concept of Capcom making a free-to-play dungeon crawler in the same vein as Demon's/Dark Souls, but here we are with Deep Down, which is currently in development for the PS4. Things seem to be going we...more

Deep Down is a free-to-play title

Capcom's upcoming next gen title Deep Down is a free-to-play title. Yeeeeeeep. Announced today at Tokyo Game Show, this PS4 game will see a public beta in February in Japan. Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida confirmed this on Twitter, and now that tweet is bouncing around the universe, falling on confused ears. That...that is... Wow. But from what I saw this week I'll likely pay. Maybe.more

Review: Warframe

Warframe has just released on the Xbox One, and it's undergone some changes since it launched -- mostly good changes, meant to add more content to the game in the form of items and missions. It still fails in all of the same areas however, mostly its inability to craft an interesting world, and the free-to-play scheme that encourages far too much grinding.more

Grasshopper's PS4 Let it Die trailer

The next game from Grasshopper and Suda 51, Let it Die, left a lot of questions unanswered at E3 this year. And I miss Lily Bergamo, which I was more excited about. This TGS trailer offers a frenetic, but more concrete look at the free-to-play PS4 game, which is sort of positioning itself as a multiplayer Manhunt. A lot of strangulation of dudes in their underwear.  more
