Ah, rape: $5 t-shirt available as LittleBigPlanet DLC in Japan photo

When people bitch about DLC and how not worth it it is, I stand by the good old theory that you don't have to buy it if you don't like it. After all, you can have sex with a dog too, but I'm pretty sure most of you opt out of doing that.

That being said, if you think you have it bad paying $1.99 to score Sephiroth and Snake costumes here, try living in Japan, where options like this t-shirt are out there for your Sackboy to wear. It costs a mere 500 yen, which comes out to $5 US. For that price, I should at least get pants and a hat too! It's embarassing to have your butt hanging out like that.

I'd like to point out that this shirt is coming as DLC to America sometime in November for a very short time, so we'll have the opportunity to bitch about it as well.

Opt out of having sex with a dog?

It's obvious, Ms. Bennett, that you have never felt the soft caress of Rover's velvety paw...

Is that the limited edition shirt that like, they're only selling to 500 or so people? Or maybe they're making it rare to see by making them a price few people would be willing to pay...I still want that Snake outfit!

I got a whole character with unique abilities and added difficulty for $2 in Mega Man 9.

And they want you to pay $5 for a T-Shirt?

See, now THAT's bullshit. :)

That's right CALkulon, and that's more than you pay for a full game like Pixeljunk Monsters or Super Stardust. It's absolutely ridicurice (that's licorice flavour lunacy).

And it continues.

This game is going to get destroyed by DLC.

I've said this before - once they start selling content for level creation, this game will become splintered. People will have to buy DLC to play custom created content. LBP's future is in danger.

The DLC is what's keeping me from buying this, actually. I don't want to buy a game only to have them force this DLC on me.

It's too bad. LBP was a great idea.

@ DaedHead8

That's just as bad. Darth Vader had already been created, and was probably already on that disc.

Seriously. This is sickening. The DLC on consoles is becoming increasingly bad. It's frightening that people continue to buy this.

It just shows developers that gamers are willing to purchase anything at any price. The focus groups that they tested this content on were incredibly effective, I guess.

I agree it was bad alex. I hate paying for content allready on the disc as much as anybody else. However, vader for $5 is not nearly as bad as getting a measly t-shirt for $5. Vader is at least a full fledged character, the t-shirt will just change the way an existing character looks.

i guess i get it. Its for the LittleBigSuper-fans. Go see any sports game, there are the fans and then there's the super-fans that dump hundreds of bill into merchandise and/or paint themselves up. Most people think its silly, but the painted-ones live for that stuff.

Really? Rape?

This is rape?

A completely optional network purchase, that disregarding does nothing to hinder your enjoyment of the game.

Yes. This is exactly like a brutal, violent rape.

I often wonder which reality some of you live in.

@ BattyAdroit

You're missing the point.

People are going to buy this, and that's what we're upset about. If they're charging $5 for a shirt for a fucking sackboy, what the hell are the level building tools going to cost?

This goes far beyond one fucking shirt. Get with the picture, and read my comment further up. You'll get what I'm talking about.

then saw the price on my ps network .... and i just felt ....UNCOMFORTABLE.... it seemed like a BLATANT abuse of the system, coz it is only the T shirt....

the other outfits (all accessorys) seemed at least a maybe...

This, just didnt seem right, and yes guys, you too will have to deal with is in the states!

The reason DLC like this upsets people is because the idea behind DLC was that it would extend/enhance the game in a significant way - new maps, additional chapters, packaged items (as in a ton of stuff bundled together), etc.

But this? $5 for a t-shirt for your digital Sackboy? Really? OBVIOUSLY, no one is forced to buy this. Yet how is one to look forward to future DLC from Media Molecule and Sony when a digital t-shirt is offered at that price? What will substantial DLC then cost?

Do not want.

I understand the rape analogy is pretty crude but i think it holds up. Hundreds of women get raped and never report it because they feel nothing will be done. So what happens? the guys get away with it more and more.

By people buying overpriced, should be free DLC its telling the companies its fine carry on. I really cant believe that as gamers we have so little power to stop this sort of thing. All it would take is NOBODY to buy it.
