Conan is one heck of an awesome guy. Drinking, fighting and shagging, he's the classless, baseless individual who exists in all our sordid male hearts, and he's getting yet another game. Age of Conan has been on the cards for a while, and this is the latest trailer, revealing a little of the plot as an aged warrior recalls his time in Conan's service.
The graphics are pretty, but the animation doesn't strike me as particularly great. That said, it's ridiculously gory and seems packed with sex, which is all you can ask for from a Conan game, really. It remains to be seen if Age of Conan can be any better than the last Conan game, however. It certainly can't get much worse.

Meet the rest of the team
As an MMO player, it's hard to tell if this will really take off. It seems to be tailored mostly towards FFA PVP types with classes that aren't stuck on the trinity concept but more in fulfilling siege roles (ranged damage, melee damage, extra stuff thrown in everywhere). The graphics look like crap, IMHO, but if its fun to play it would definitely be worth it. Hope it doesn't end up as another Shadowbane, though, since many of the concepts are similar to the old point and click game.
I can't say that I wouldn't try it if I played MMOs still, but I got really bored with WoW pretty quickly, so I probably wouldn't get too attached to it.

I thought it looked pretty damn good until I saw the nvidia logo at the end. I'm goddamn tired of seeing the "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" bullshit on everything.
i have been playing the beta for 2 weeks or so now, and so far... the game is a giant.. MEH! But it is a beta, so it is a clusterfuck of glitches and errors and is no where near ready to be released.
So far the only reason im playing it is cause im broke cause of Christmas and i cant afford any new games for a few weeks.
Will suck massively. I say this not from an "OMG the grafx suk!!!!1" perspective, but because I'm a huge Robert E. Howard fan (no, Conan is not Arnold Schwarzenegger) who, because of all the hot air blown by the developers at Funcom, expected a gritty, low-magic world true to the spirit of the original stories. Instead I see nothing more than yet another geeky, magic missile-casting Everquest/WoW with a lot of blood and decapitations thrown in an attempt to make the game "mature". Yet more aimless running around, mouse clicking, shitty combat, leveling up. Yet another wasted effort.

About the graphics. It looks good, in DX10 with all effects on. The trailer looks shitty, I don't know why, a presentation was made a few months back that looked amazing. This however is very meh.
About the game. They are redesigning the combatsystem (it's realtime, btw) so it's even more beat em uppy and more combo oriented - as far as you can get from PLZ WAIT FOR HIT ala WoW etc.
Magic is very low key in the game. As far as I can tell no real magic-classes are present, except for some kind of healers (how the fuck would they have done otherwise?). Sure shamans and stuff are there, but there's nothing ultraflashy about the magic.
It does however sound very worrying that it's gamebreakingly buggy so far in development :S

The only MMO I have any interest in is Warhammer at this point and I wouldnt be hard pressed if I missed that even.
well, i played the demo about a thousand times... if that were translated to the full game play, i would've beaten it about 3 times.

1. How the heck are people supposed to know about graphics w/DX10 unless they're in beta since all but 1 video has been done with crappy graphics?
2. Of course it's real-time... it's an MMORPG...
3. Magic is low key? You might want to take a gander at the class list again, specifically the Mage archetype classes.
