Still playing Age of Conan, Funcom's Conan MMO? Great, OK, know this: the launch date of the prequel expansion, "Rise of the Godslayer," has been confirmed as May 11th. It will be available as a retail package as well as a download, but you may want to consider grabbing the boxed copy: it comes with a pet and a "package of virtual items. (Both have pre-order bonuses that net pets as well, apparently.)
The expansion, according to Funcom's latest press release, will let "players travel to a unique part of Conan's world where an ancient traditional culture clashes with dark forces." We're not exactly sure what that means, but we're guessing you won't be whisked away to the Conan-equivalent of a Cold Stone Creamery. On second thought, maybe you will. We've seen some crazy stuff inside a Cold Stone.

I don't know, I guess you guys all assume if it doesn't have WoW numbers then it's not doing well. Which is very far from the truth.
I hope I'm wrong, for Funcom's sake.
Hell, at launch you couldn't enter 3 of the zones because memory leaks would crash you. half the major hox abilities were bugged into uselessness, my performance (fps and whatnot) was half of what it reasonably should have been, the content was poorly paced, and the end game content was largely ignored.
It had potential, I loved it, but really... RIP.
If you liked Conan back in the day but quit due to bugs or content, do yourself a favor and give it another shot. It's gonna be hard to tear me away from AoC for another MMO now. Raid night in WoW is soooo boring after going back to Conan. Can't wait for Godslayer!
