Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Funcom's DirectX 10-touting MMORPG, has been delayed time and time again, but it seems that the game has gone gold and will make its May 20 release date after all.

Funcom's CEO Trond Arne Aas has gone on the record saying, "Age of Conan has been in development for a long time, as with all MMOs, but we have spent that time well and ended up with a game we are incredibly proud of."

It's certainly been a long time since I first heard about AoC: HA, and to tell you the truth, the game had vanished from my proverbial radar in the wake of all its delays. Are any of you still interested in the game for reasons other than boobs and gore?

All I know is many WoW players and guilds will be switching to the new drug of choice, my friend being one of them. He didn't even seem excited about it (I had to tell him about parts of the game I've read), but he will be playing it non stop.

That my friends, is what we call an addiction.

Due to an unfortunate court order I am legally required to play every MMO out there at least once in case I get withdrawl from my MMO addiction and kill someone. Again.

It should be a fairly competent MMO with a good story and OTT action but I can�t see it being different or polished enough to last long.

Don't tell them I told you, but the client I'm sporting for the beta is still amazingly unstable. Imagine yourself going, "Damn, this game is really fucking coo... oh shit it just crashed again."

That's what playing the game is like. Every time you want to say it's fucking cool it's going to shit on your face. Ok, I may be over exaggerating but still, the game's pretty cool. Preorder it now and get a War Mammoth mount!

Should be a fun diversion between now and the mmo's coming out later this year. Particularly interested to see how some of the guild functions (guild towns, the border keeps, etc) work out.

How the heck did it go gold? I was watching videos from the beta weekend and on even fairly beastly computers it got down to 5 fps in battle... I think I'll wait for the 360 version. At least I know that one won't lag too much because it has to pass the MS stress test.

All I'll say about Warhammer Online is that they really need all the time they can get from now until Q4 2008 (I'm guessing a pre-Thanksgiving Holiday release).

Videos from the PVP beta weekend were showing an old build of the game intended only as a stress test with lots of players online at once. Some people had good fps like myself and others not so much, however it still wasn't representative of the final game.

DirectX10 wasn't even available and the game still looked really nice. So Funcom was much further along on the final game than many were experienced, hence going gold just a couple days after the PVP weekend.
