If you popped in your Afro Samurai disc today, you received an update. Namco Bandai’s Surge label, the developers for the stylish brawler, announced the details of it this afternoon. The big improvement is something that I certainly didn’t expect -- Surge gave players control of the camera.
I played Afro Samurai for review, and while the camera was always on my mind -- especially during the endgame platforming section -- I didn’t find it as dreadful as the nasty frame rate drops and clunky boss battles. It looks like Surge may have ironed out some of those issues as well. Below is a list of the improvements:
- Camera settings can now be accessed through the Options menu
- Invert camera control option has been implemented
- Gameplay tuning – Improved Brother 6 boss fight
- Multiple bug issues have also been resolved
Honestly, I don’t think I could stomach hearing, “B-tch, I ain’t yo’ GPS” one more time, so I’ll probably skip out on another playthrough until I have a really boring weekend. Still, though, this patch looks great on paper. Have any of you tried it out yet?
