Adventure fans rejoice! Broken Sword coming to Wii and DS photo

Although adventure games are slightly less few and far between than they used to be, the average adventure fan is still silently waiting for the slightest sign of a title he (or she!) can point and click his way through. Most of those same fans are familiar with Broken Sword, a history/archeology adventure series that started in 1996.

I haven't played a Broken Sword game since The Shadow of the Templars on GBA ( see picture above) but it looks like I might get to try it again very soon: according to a listing on German ratings website USK, Ubisoft will be continuing the series and it will be coming to the DS and the Wii.

Revolution Software had been pushing for this via a petition on Revolution Chat, and it looks like it panned out. No word on when these may come to light, but we'll keep you posted. Despite being awesome, the THQ port of Templars was a little on the buggy side, so I'm hoping to see Ubisoft improve on the formula a bit.

This is great, I played the hell out the first 2 episodes of Broken Sword for the PC, but I have to admit that the third one failed to get me.

I already own them, but will probably buy them to support adventure games.

Hell yes, Broken sword is one of the greatest mix of originality, adventure and puzzle games there is.

I would have gunned for a decent sequel in the original style. A remake is okay but it won't get me all hot and sticky around my underthings... Still, one step at a time.

Unsurprising, they've been talking about making it since the DS and Wii came onto the scene. Still, I definitely want to give the DS one a shot - can't be bothered with the Wii one.

I wonder if it'll be a new title or just a remake.

the wii/ds ports are good news. hopefully they'll be able to lure in some new fans too.

this is one of the classics, don't miss it, people. it's pretty much as good as they get ;)
