Adorably docile penguins: The Critter Chronicles nears

Hitting PC, Mac and Linux on December 5

Good news for adventure game fans: Nordic Games and KING Art are working on a prequel to the quirky 2009 adventure The Book of Unwritten Tales. Best of all, this new game, titled The Critter Chronicles, will be releasing on December 5, 2012.

Like its successor, The Critter Chronicles will take place in Aventasia and will follow the trials of Nate Bonnett as he befriends his odd but loyal sidekick Critter. As a side note, for those of you rocking the penguin OS and Steam, the original adventure is currently in its beta phase and available to all for a limited time.

I have never been much a patient gamer, so I usually have a tendency to steer away from point-and-click adventures. With The Critter Chronicles, I'm not sure if it's the odd humor, colorful art style, or strategic use of adorable penguins, but I can't wait to see more. It's probably the penguins.
