Let's just hope they get it right this time and there's not a holiday '10 release of L4D3: World at War.
but really, he speaks the truth. How many internet signatures 20K? Yeah Left4Dead sold millions, I'm sure Valve is really worried.
What, so having an opinion contrary to the whiny fanbase automatically means that Dtoid is bending over for advertising cash? I love it when people find conspiracies out of nowhere.
FANTASTIC, GREAT, AMAZING NEWS, LEFT 4 DEAD 1 AND 2 WILL COME TO PS3 !!!!!
... ... ... it...it it's not ?... but Valve is so generous and doesn't screw people so assumed....

I had to say it. That comment made me LOL
Their little faces get all tight and their eyes seem ready to fly out of their sockets at the slightest provocation....Its really quite funny! I annoy every teen I can just to laugh at their pathetic anger..
It's a shame to see one side seemingly hammering home their opinion so virulently, but hey, it keeps people talking about it I guess.
Look at Left 4 Dead 2 yourself compare it to left 4 dead the original and ask yourself if it feel like a sequel or an expansion.
Eff this im making a response video. We got these 3 guys bashing on gamers WHO ARE JUST TRYING TO VOICE THEIR CONCERNS about the game.
STOP WHININGSZ LOLZ. Well you know what? No one is forcing you guys to not buy left 4 dead 2, so why dont you guys quit YOUR bitching over other Peoples opinion. Let them do what the HELL they want with their money...
Oh and this whole "Game companies dont own you the gamers anything" iS HORSE MANURE.
Adam, Jim, and Aziz Light expect a video response tonight from the OTHER side. You want to act like this is some HUGE controversy. Well the report both sides.
Even if it's by hook or crook, they will end up playing this game.
Valve is far from the only developer who doesn't release on all platforms. Get back to me when the developers of Among Theives don't "screw people" by not releasing it for the 360.
@Swizzler121:
Have fun NOT playing L4D2. Don't let the safehouse door hit your ass on the way out, because we don't want ass prints on our safehouse door. Also, you might let zombies in.
@AngryJoeShow:
No, this is definitely not merely voicing your concerns. This is a whiny threat of boycott, not constructive, concerned criticism.
The haters had some reasonable points in their list. The trouble is that it was a list of demands to be met or else, not suggestions to be discussed.
Now valve can see that 20000 of the millions who have bought L4D are whiners with a twisted sense of entitlement.
I would be fine with people complaining about it but they've gone above and beyond, they started to organize into group and start petitions to try and stop valve from making L4D2, That's not voicing your concern that's take action based on your own ideas about what should and should not happen.
Video game companies don't own you anything is completely true, If valve released DLC for free then great they took time out of their normal work and did something for their fans, something that's not even logical. Game companies are just that companies, businesses. The point of a businesses is to provide a service to the consumer for an exchange of goods (usually money). Once you buy something from them your relationship ends, buying something from them does not equal a contract of love between you and the company. You got what you paid for and they have every right to make another product.
BTW, valve does owe us for buying out Won.net and gave us the shitty steam. Still haven't fixed to stuttering bug that has been plaguing the source engine.
To use an old proverb - spare the rod, spoil the child. I enjoy Valve games, and love seeing them do something different. My boycott, though understandably misunderstood by everyone, is just a "hey... watch out" for them.
/end rant.
This all smacks of why I didn't get COD:WaW. As a past PC gamer it just looked too much like something a skilled MOD team could pull off, especially in MP. Had the price of the game been like 40 bucks out the gate, then I might of gave it a go, but 60$?? no way.
also, correct me if Im' wrong but didn't Valve say that locations in L4D2 are the same from the the original title, just different "area's"?. If that's so, then if you ask me, Adam is wrong. It is just 5 dark unnamed regions to mindlessly kill zombies.
Personally, I played the first one for a week, then got bored. After many many co-op and online vs, I was stumped as to why it was such a great game. It felt generic, to not only me, but my friends as well.
It's not so much that a game company is releasing a sequel to an amazing game in one year, it's that Valve is better than that. With the exception of the new Director, everything could (very) easily be patched in. It just doesn't look (not talking about graphics) like a sequel. Look at Team Fortress 2, that's a sequel. And it only took them like 13 years! It has so many (free) updates added to it throughout the year, it's an entirely different game than when it was first released. Valve should be giving L4D the TF2 treatment is all.
No I'm not going to marry Valve, that was just an analogy :P
The answer is, they got it from playing other Valve games. Valve can do whatever they want. It's their business. But, if they think that people are going to have the same respect for them after pulling stuff like this, they're wrong. They only have so many opportunities to take advantage of peoples' (including game reviewers) loyalty. Eventually they'll just be another faceless opportunistic game company that tries to make a quick buck off of every little improvement. L4D: Smash Hits anybody?
I love how Sessler says "I would love to get a little more insight" when he has blatantly ignored anything and everything that has been said already so he can have his usual senseless rant.
It might help to know what you're talking about before you cite examples. Naughty Dog is a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, so it's impossible for Among Thieves to ever be on the 360. Try harder next time.
Sony owns the Uncharted IP, if I'm not mistaken, so unless Sony "pulls a SEGA" there's no chance.
Valve is the only 3rd party "High Profile" that hates the PS3 with a passion, thus making the company stand out.
"I just want Half life 2: Episode 3. I'd rather them work on that then left 4 dead 2, it's that simple."
Valve isn't a tiny team of developers. They are working on Episode 3.
Alright, my only problem is people who oppose the people who oppose L4D2 (take a sec to read that again if need be) are simply saying everyone who's upset about the sequel coming out so quickly is a baby, a whiner, a loser...so on and so forth. I was actually surprised by Sess' relative strength of language. "Sense of entitlement"? Really Sess? Some people just can't afford to upgrade to the sequel almost exactly a year later. Personally, I feel that L4D, as it was when it came out (hell, even now), has far less value than L4D2, and that makes me a bit annoyed. I didn't want to play this card, but hey, I'm not a video game journalist who has these games sent to me for free. It's almost like the whole ODST issue. Would people be mad if ODST was just a short side-project campaign priced at $60? Of course. Are less people mad knowing that they've now thrown in the entire Halo 3 multiplayer with Firefight and perhaps a longer ODST campaign? Yes. You're never going to please everyone; in the end it really doesn't matter which video game journalist is talking down to which group of consumers. They have a right to complain for whatever reasons they want, just as they have a right to not buy the game. Again: this isn't going to matter in four months.
Whatever. There are plenty of PS3-only games that aren't developed by Sony-owned developers, like Heavy Rain. Valve isn't held to the same standard as those developers. Normally it's a fact of life that some titles are console exclusive, but when Valve does it people suddenly DEMAND it for their PS3's, and when they don't get it they bitch and moan about how Valve hates their console, that they're lazy and ignorant developers, etc, etc.
It's grade-A bullshit. Come back when you hold Valve to the same standard as everyone else. They owe you just as little as Quantic Dream owes 360 owners.
But I have Left 4 Dead for the PC the problem is it to slow to run it, and I have a 360 and if I ever find L4D in the stores I'll buy it. What makes Valve different is Gabe Newell vocal or even infantile hatred for the PS3. And it's still hilarious the Valve's PR and employees trying to find excuses for Gabe's behaviour.
Whats so great about DLC anyway? Usually its a short affair and not really essential to the original game experience.
Id rather have a new game over DLC any day of the week. Now if the content of the sequel turns out to be less than worth the $60 (I doubt it will), that's another story.
You either buy something or you don't. People are trying to make it personal, like they are being assaulted.
If you feel like Left 4 Dead 2 will bisect the L4D community, then wouldn't you actually feel better off without the people you've pegged as tards' in the same server as you?
Either the idea of the small changes that Valve has made to the formula and new maps warrants a purchase or it f--cking doesn't! You have no obligation, and should feel no betrayal, because Valve was never your friend to begin with, whether you are a part of the target audience or not.
