Fanboys can have a field day with this one: Digger Key10000 snapped a pic of a controversially worded retail ad in the UK that positions the PS3 as a Blu-ray player that "also plays great games." For all we know it's perhaps positioned in a Blockbuster video store where it would make contextual sense, but to a hardcore gamer the ad reads like a parody no matter where you put it. Truth in advertising or a marketer's jab at Sony? Depends how much you like Talladega Nights, I guess.

The only people who think consoles should just play games are Nintendo fanboys. And even there they must be blind since even the Wii is trying in its own limited way to do other things such as photo & browsing.
I have a PC that does all of that already. Most people can say the same. Yes, they're all nice functions, but when I buy a game console I buy it to play games FIRST and do the rest SECOND.
