Activision trademarks 'Blur,' we speculate and it's ridiculous photo

It appears Activision's trademark gnomes are on the move, as the publisher just filed for trademark of "Blur" on December 10 in connection with "computer game software."

While we'd like to think that this is a Guitar Hero game centered around the English alternative rock band, that's quite unlikely. Considering that they barely have enough hit singles to populate a "track pack," we highly doubt that. It could, however, be a third-person shooter featuring Blur singer Damon Albarn, powered by Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare engine.

Or it could be a game where the main character runs really fast ... Or it could be a racing game, because "Blur" sounds like a pretty good name for a racing game ... Or it could be ...

Hell, you tell us. If "Blur" actually does become a videogame product, what could it be?

I trademarked "Song 2" last Thursday. Its about a guy.. that sits down and stares at walls, while listening to Blur.. *crap.. now I owe Activision money.

It's going to be a racing game. The *in* thing to do is to have a four letter word as your racing game. Maybe Blur will capitalize on the (marginal) success of Grid and Pure.

Pretty sure Blur had more than enough hit singles to fill a track pack. Sure maybe not in America but they certainly were the top band in the UK for a number of years.

I think that with like 13 singles that were top ten in the UK charts they could probably manage a track pack Nick...

Okay, Brits, Nick is American, and over here they have had a grand total of two singles, only one of which could really be called a hit.

Fucking hell, Nick I had you down to be "down" with Blur.
I'm going in July, I am chuffed that Graham is back and all lookds well.

Really, this is all that my teenage years missed.

Pretty sure they could manage their own game and it would sell like hot cakes over here in the UK. Hyde Park sold out in 2 minutes and, with the possibility of a new album on the way, there is a fever around Blur that Activision can take advantage of.

Also, Graham Coxon = one of the best guitarists of our generation.

No, I love Blur and ... crap. Dexter's right. I am American. The track pack thing was kind of a joke.

Also, love the Bizarre Racing game idea. Hadn't made that connection.

Well.. I could be wrong, but I believe Blur is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

Blur is awesome. Fuck American commercial success. Lord knows there's enough shit on GH, heaven forbid something of actual quality go on there.

Maybe it's a puzzle game wherein you see the map before hand, then you have to navigate the puzzle with blurred vision, and escape some sort of large dinosaur like creature, or maybe a worm thing.

i was thinking blurred vision too, but more like having the whole getting drunk thing on gtaIV. your character is all hazy and you have to do things like not miss the toilet too much while urinating, not getting arrested, or not sleeping with what you think is a woman. sounds fun if you ask me.

Yeah America never liked Blur how ever hard Albarn tried.

Deffo a track pack - they had plenty of hits (and I wish i'd got tickets too)!
Also if it was a sports game, they might run into difficulty with EA's SSX Blur.
