Considering they plan to release a coupon (or "voucher" as they call it) in the collector's edition of Prototype 2, not surprised. I would have preferred a better deal on the voucher, because the rest of the CE isn't good enough to warrant the price (at least to me). So if you buy the CE, you should probably claim the voucher, but that will only cost you more money. It's a pretty dumb deal for anyone who isn't a huge Prototype fan, but, I imagine pretty much only big fans would buy that CE.
They got some balls. I loved the first and will get this (discounted), but merch? Is Prototype even close to that popular? Also did anyone know their are lemonparty.org shirts? Unrelated? Yes. Important? Always.
i find it funny that games have become so poorly made yet so expensive to make that now publishers of games that arnt well established(unlike nintendo franchises) in the world of gaming need to rely on stupid marketing swag like this to try and make a little extra money.

Prototype sucked, and I have no idea why they would make a sequel. Where's the story on Wasteland 2 reaching it's kickstarter goal in 2 days? :-P
I like the clothes, they're not that bad looking but I can't imagine the number of people roaming the internet for a Vintage Lightweight M65 Jacket AND at the "steal" price of $98.

At first I was pretty surprised to see this game get a sequel, but now I guess I see how they're doing it.
"Hey guys, let's advertise and merchandise the hell out of this game so we can justify making it!"
It isn't terrible that they're doing this, but it does seem kind of cheap. Marketing moves like this feel like the equivalent of games budget games based off of movies to me.

Until I've read the entire article and all your opinions, I wasnt aware that Prototype hadn't made all the success I thought it had done. Anyway, if what you guys are saying is true, then making "fancy fans stuff" like clothing or game collectors edition like that sound a really stupid idea.
People buy the CE not cuz they r super fans but most the time its an extra 5 or 10 bucks for some cool shit, recent years not so much just dlc garbage. This is no diffrent then movies making toys or a directors edition with 2 minutes of deleted scenes that suck anyway.
Anyway if I had $98 to throw around id get that jacket, but 1 I live in florida and 2 I could put that money towards buying the game new instead of waiting until a price drop. Not that Im not exited and think it will be a good game $60 is a hard pill to swallow especially without the replay factor I know I would get if it had online muliplayer.

They seem to be anticipating alot of sales huh? I really liked the first Prototype and I am looking forward to the 2nd game a fair amount. That store kinda sucks... I would actually be willing to buy an Alex Mercer leather jacket, now that was balling.
I know this is just a cash grab, but considering that one of the most common things I've heard about the first game is 'that main character sure wears a swell jacket', it makes perfect sense to me.
