Nice, i've never played this! But since the evil publisher likes to swap Bonds, i thought of an idea! It would be cool if all the Bond actors were in the game and you could choose what Bond to play as! Me personally Roger Moore all the way.

Goldeneye 007 on Wii is one of the best-playing FPS games of this generation. If you haven't played it, as an FPS fan, you are doing yourself a disservice. Disregard your feelings of remaking a classic like Goldeneye and play it (or this). You will be glad you did AND you will be wondering why big name shooters like CoD and Battlefield don't implement such an ingenious cover mechanic like this game has.
If the multiplayer suite is expanded from what was offered on Wii I will be purchasing this... again. The game is THAT good.

The Wiimake was a good game, but with the glut of other high-quality FPSes on the 360 and PS3, will the intended audience really have the time and patience for what amounts to just another shooter?
While I intended to get the Wii version, I stopped once I saw videos of it being Call of Duty. This version would definitely be better for online support, but I don't know how often I'd play it online. It just looks meh.
People wanted GoldenEye on PS3 and 360 for years. It gets announced and people are like, "Fuck it."

@jim I think people finally realized that goldeneye isn't a fine wine, and hasn't aged too well. Imo anyway.
A surprising amount of disdain at this news. I think this could be a lot of fun with some friends and some beer. Just don't pick Oddjob or we will have a problem.

Also I think it's weird how spit screen is almost a throwaway option nowadays. Now we have larger, HD televisions, it should be better than ever however most games only offer two player split screen or no local multiplayer whatsoever. I guess that pretty much everybody does just play online.

The hate is probably because:
-The name is the selling point, if the same game with a different name looked like this and was from activision people would not even give it the time of day.
-It looks like CoD and those Mi6 Op Missions are probably going to be this games version of Spec Ops.
-It's Activision, so it's obviously a cash grab.

As a man who has recentely finished the Wiimake twice, I can easily confirm from the screenshots alone, that it is indeed a port of the Wii game.
I honestely really liked the Wii version, so if they hopefully improve on some of it's flaws (terrible QTEs, horrendus last bossfight), I see this as a good thing.

One of the best FPS's in years. I am still playing the mp. Will double dip here. Finally a chance to directly compare the wii with the move controls.

The Wii version blew pretty hard (my friends and I played it for a few hours before we never played it again on evening). It was Call of Duty with worse mechanics, bad IR shooting, and a horrid framerate.
If this was a remake of the original, Perfect Dark XBLA style, I'd bite. Otherwise, I'll pass on "Call of Goldeneye".

Yes, I think it uses the CoD engine, but that doesn't make it the same thing when it comes to gameplay, not at all. On the easiest mode you can go guns blazing. But on Agent and 007 there are a objectives, the need to explore the open (copmared to CoD) stages and the option to aim for a stealth approach. Give it another chance, it's totally worth it!

Glad I didn't grab the wii game now. I'll be getting this. 007 is Likr the only activation franchise I care for.

Yeah, this is the Wii remake remade. (Try saying that drunk). Decent news for HD console owners as it's a fairly good game, but more embarrassment for Nintendo.
Didn't buy the Wii version cause the graphics looked worse than my 64. this though....this could be a think. Needs Brosnan though.

As several others have said, this is the HD upgrade of the Wii remake, not the N64 game. Jim, your news posting had been improving, but you not only missed this in the original news (and the official site links to IGN which has an article that outright says it is based on the Wii remake), you posted a comments reply *after* people had corrected you.
Plus, your comment reply does relate to the mistake. This isn't a case of people saying screaming for Goldeneye on next gen system and then turning their back when it was announced. This is a case of some people screaming for Goldeneye on next gen systems, then seeing that the Wii was getting a Call of Duty reskin called Goldeneye, and then seeing PS360 were getting an HD upgrade of Wii/CoD Goldeneye, and going "meh".
Not that there was ever a massive number of people wanting a new Goldeneye in the first place, and that market was as fractured as the Duke Nukem Forever market turned out to be (which has people who are indifferent, people who think DNF was a disgrace to the Duke legacy, and people who think DNF was a good.)

He didn't make a mistake. He purposely wrote N64 version. He's trying to make the point that a remake of the N64 version would be the Wii version, because a remake with all the old levels and mechanics left as they are would be shit.
