Actually, judging from the screenshots, it's clearly a port of The Wii remake that was released last year.
This is becoming like the Final Fantasy 1 of first person shooters.
If the multiplayer suite is expanded from what was offered on Wii I will be purchasing this... again. The game is THAT good.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you ... Gamers.
The Wii version was pretty horrid which it's a remake of, which barely has any gameplay like the N64 game.
If the N64 game could get the Perfect Dark treatment on XBLA, then I'd want it. Not this.
Also I think it's weird how spit screen is almost a throwaway option nowadays. Now we have larger, HD televisions, it should be better than ever however most games only offer two player split screen or no local multiplayer whatsoever. I guess that pretty much everybody does just play online.
@Jim
Can you clarify. Is it the N64 version or the Wii version? I read yesterday it's the Wii version. Withers good for me, I'm just curious.
-The name is the selling point, if the same game with a different name looked like this and was from activision people would not even give it the time of day.
-It looks like CoD and those Mi6 Op Missions are probably going to be this games version of Spec Ops.
-It's Activision, so it's obviously a cash grab.
As a man who has recentely finished the Wiimake twice, I can easily confirm from the screenshots alone, that it is indeed a port of the Wii game.
I honestely really liked the Wii version, so if they hopefully improve on some of it's flaws (terrible QTEs, horrendus last bossfight), I see this as a good thing.
This is NOT a remake of the N64 fame, apart from the first 5 minutes of the campaign.
If this was a remake of the original, Perfect Dark XBLA style, I'd bite. Otherwise, I'll pass on "Call of Goldeneye".
Yes, I think it uses the CoD engine, but that doesn't make it the same thing when it comes to gameplay, not at all. On the easiest mode you can go guns blazing. But on Agent and 007 there are a objectives, the need to explore the open (copmared to CoD) stages and the option to aim for a stealth approach. Give it another chance, it's totally worth it!
I'm sure the SP is serviceable - I was mainly talking about four player split screen - it was really janky, and really hard to play.
People bought 360's because of Rare? Wow. I feel bad for them.
Plus, your comment reply does relate to the mistake. This isn't a case of people saying screaming for Goldeneye on next gen system and then turning their back when it was announced. This is a case of some people screaming for Goldeneye on next gen systems, then seeing that the Wii was getting a Call of Duty reskin called Goldeneye, and then seeing PS360 were getting an HD upgrade of Wii/CoD Goldeneye, and going "meh".
Not that there was ever a massive number of people wanting a new Goldeneye in the first place, and that market was as fractured as the Duke Nukem Forever market turned out to be (which has people who are indifferent, people who think DNF was a disgrace to the Duke legacy, and people who think DNF was a good.)
@NickCull
Why do you want MadWorld? It wasn't even particularly good. Besides, the PS360 are getting the spiritual sequel (and hopefully better) Anarchy Reigns.
He's right. This is exactly what you all asked for. You just didn't know you didn't want it.
