Most exciting wii game all year is a gamecube port!
But really, I'm excited. I love this game, and copies of the gamecube version were either hard to find or insanely expensive last I looked.

I just barely learned that the second game even GOT a Wii remake. I can't believe they're actually bothering to bring it here. At least it'll be easier to get, and backwards compatible with the Wii U.

Yeah I'm not really an RPG person. For some reason I thought Xenoblade Chronicles was already out. Oh well.
This has gotta be at least in the top 5 of Gamecube games. Maybe releasing it so late was their plan all along to hype for Pikmin 3?
If I didn't have my ginormous backlog, I might've been starving for Wii stuff.

Huh, I've bought a lot of really great new Wii games recently, and also went back and picked up some true gems that I missed (like Muramasa and Warioland: Shake It PLAY THESE GAMEZ PPL)... soooooo yea....
They can pry my gcn versions from my cold dead hands! But I'm am very excited for what shiggy has been chatting up, I hope it's just pikmin in HD, that's all he needs to do to not fuckup.
I recently bought the 1st Pikmin, and I gotta say I was a bit disappointed. Maybe it's because I played Little King's Story, but going "back" to Pikmin was frustrating, mainly because of the time limit and the fact that Pikmin are "stubborn" and hard to manage (can't cycle through Pikmin types, etc.). I stopped playing mid-way because I was tired of always restarting because my Pikmin decided to get stuck into a fire pit, or to fight a tougher enemy.
Is Pikmin 2 any better? I love the art style and the "general concept" (LKS is one of my favorite games ever), but the 1st Pikmin got som many frustrating little details...

Pikmin 2 doesn't have the 30 day time constraint, so it might be less stressful for some.
I preferred the calendar of the first game, which is odd because im not usually a fan of time limits in games.

Not only do I want the wii-make of Chibi-Robo, I also want a new Chibi-Robo game for a home console. Chibi-Robo is easily one of the best games on the Game Cube, and deserves a sequel.

This was a happy surprise, I haven't played Pikmin 2 yet so I thought I was going to have to track down one of the expensive GC discs. I really thought this wasn't coming over.
It's never too late to release a good game. It took them 7 years to release Sin and Punishment, and I'm happy I got the game at all. It's still damn good. If Nintendo spontaneously decided to release Captain Rainbow, and the other Wii stuff that never made it to the states I would be ecstatic.
Though to be fair I play alot of last gen games. I bought about 7 PS2 games last weekend.

This is great news! I thought they canned the New Play Control! games. Wish they would reissue the Metroid Prime games, though. Even if it was just 1 & 2 in a regular case, it would definitely sell.

I bought Pikmin New Play Control after a while, and I love it. Then, since they never released 2 here for some ungodly reason, I borrowed my cousin's GC copy and just played that. I got to the end of the main story, but there was still tons to do and I stopped after a while. I think I like the first game a bit better even though the general consensus is that 2 is a big improvement. They're definitely both worth owning and playing. And now I'll be tempted to buy this, just to own it, even if I don't think I'll want to start the game over again. Hmm...

I saw it used at an EB games really far from my house once for like $30 or something crazy for an old used GC game, and I was tempted, but I figured at the time that the Wii version was coming so I'd wait for that. Kinda wish I'd bought it though. It looks fun.

Bad timing, just started my Pikmin 2 walkthrough yesterday and was completley engaged yesterday as I was 7 years ago. I´ll buy it to play it on WiiU though.

All the stuff that annoyed you from the first Pikmin was improved mate. You now can cycle through the Pikmin colors, have 2 comanders for easier army control and no time constraints aside from excelent replay valueand more level diversity. It's, without a doubt, a masterpice of Miyamoto´s mind.

Never finished Pikmin 2(although I finished the original on two separate occasions for myself and my friend). Would be great to try this with the Wiimote. I think the lack of time constraint and dungeons actually made it less interesting for me at the time.
There wasn't anything really wrong with the New Play Control idea, except that they started with the wrong titles. They should have started with Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda Wind Waker! Then they could have gone on to the others in reverse order starting with the Metroid Prime Trilogy (which while a bit glitchy Nintendo pulled way too soon!).
