Rejoice my friends, this is a banner day for cheapskates the world over. You see, not only do we get a whole extra day for free tomorrow, but with no reasoning or warning given Activision has released a No Doubt track pack for Guitar Hero 3. Now those of us destitute enough to be stuck strumming sorrowfully on Guitar Hero 3, all while Rock Band rubs three heaping spoon fulls of salt into our collective wounds each week, can dust off our copies of Guitar Hero 3 and rock once more.

The No Doubt track pack (500 MS points) features masters of "Don't Speak", "Excuse Me Mr", and "Sunday Morning" all from No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album.  This would be a perfect opportunity to complain about the fact that Guitar Hero 3 rarely gets new content, or the fact the songs aren't available individually ala Rock Band, but honestly I'm so excited about not having to go over to someone else's house to play new songs that until the final strains of the last No Doubt song ring out from my TV I am blind to the faults of Activision. Also, Gwen Stefani.

For me, this is too little, too late. As I said in my comment on power-glove’s blog, these aren’t the best songs for guitar work that they could’ve picked, and frankly, if I bought the pack, I’d just keep wishing that I could be playing the song in Rock Band. I don’t think I’ve bought a single DLC song for Guitar Hero III because of that. Rock Band has caused me to never look back.

As long as there nothing Rocksteady and beyond, we coo.

I think i'm happy this wasn't released on Rock band. I don't want one of my slobby overweight geek friends sitting behind the kit and drumming in homage to Adrian. For those of you who aren't No Doubt fans Adrian drums in a minimal amount of clothing, sometimes in a ladys thong. I remember back in the days of MTV Cribs Gwen joked about Adrian using her thongs.

I love no doubt, but these songs suck.

Haha, I never noticed despite being beaten over the head with No Doubt in the 90's by KROQ, but Don't Speak is really Dream On.

God I was all excited about buying this for Rock Band and drumming Sunday Morning, and then I realized its for GH3. Disappointment ensues.

In rock band it would've been a sure buy, oh well.

I'm considering getting GH3 for PS3 just for this -_- the wife would be really happy lol. But without a decent GH3/RB guitar it's just not worth it

"...I am blind to the faults of Harmonix."

If you are referring to the developers of GHIII, then please change that to Neversoft.

Harmonix is the developer who knows what they are doing with music and created GH, GHII and Rock Band. :)

I didn't really like rhythm games until I played rock band, now my GH2 is just so lonely.

I'm not terribly thrilled about this selection. No Doubt? Really? No "Final Countdown"? No Pennywise or something fun?

I mean, Stefani WAS hot. seriously. But she didn't rock the guitar.
still, I'll probably get it. Lames.

I feel so bad for Neversoft because i'm sure they are stand up developers, they just not harmonix. I mean nobody is harmonix, just like nobody else is blizzard. And anyone who tries, looks like the past over step child. (see WoW versus every other MMO)

Nothing is wrong with GH3, and they are trying. No doubt is an awesome "get" for their DLC. But something is missing...

I think it's love...

Rockband could top GH3 (as if it didn't already), but getting No Doubt, and release a "clothings/style" pack to go with it. Free advertising for Gwen's LAMB brand, and money for the DLC. I want my rock band char to look as good as No Doubt. Pwnage right there.

Ultra LAME. This gives me zero reason to go back to Guitar Hero.

Barely, its not like they're throwing in RBF or Streetlight Manifesto. I appreciate the upstrokes, but needs more horns.

Sunday Morning is one of my favorite songs by No Doubt. If only the pack were Sunday Morning, New, and Running, I would be all over it.

People still like No Doubt? Really? Ska makes me want to rip out my brain and throw it out the window, then impale myself on a fence. Some of their non-ska material was good-ish.

Sublime in Rock Band, please.

Also, No Doubt is awesome but I can't spend money on GH III. Rock Band has taken over.

No Doubt is fantastic. This is the only DLC I've gotten for GH3, but I'm happy to get back into it for this. Reminds me of my younger years... when I had one of those serious adolescent crushes on Gwen Stefani. I think I still have one for the 1998 Gwen Stefani, actually.

Tragic Kingdom is a GREAT album, much closer to their ska roots than the poppier stuff that came later. Seriously, it rocks.

All good songs, Don't Speak is probably my least favorite.

Everytime a good song pack comes out on GH3 (See: Once in a blue moon) I just wish it would have come out on Rock Band instead. The drums would be so much fun to play on Sunday Morning.

That seems like a fair trade...

Guitar Hero 3 gets three sub-par No Doubt songs

Rock Band gets three great Nine Inch Nails songs.

good luck playing drums on March of the Pigs or The Perfect Drug

im just chiming in with more Rock Band love. Nice try Neversoft, but stick with running Tony Hawk into the ground and leave the music rhythm games to Harmonix.

The is NO DOUBT in my mind that I Hate NO DOUBT and they haven't been ska for a long time people....you need to listen to some The Pietasters, or Pilfers if you want the true ska sound...but ska isn't as popular/ mainstream anymore right??

Wow, I was totally expecting to see these comments full of No Doubt hate. But there was actually a lot of love.

I love old No Doubt, and when I saw this article I was like "HOLY SHIT!! JAWESOME!!" Old No Doubt rocked, and old Gwen Stefani was super hot. I attended a No Doubt concert around '02 or so and Gwen totally rocked the house. She was spewing obscenities, and she climbed like a 20 or 30 foot light tower. It was a very memorable show.

This is an awesome pack for GH!
