Despite the oh-so-punishing nature of Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes, it's still one of my favorite games to grace the Xbox Live Indie Games channel. Against all odds, the title is being reworked for release on both the 3DS eShop and the Wii U with a little help from Nicalis.

Aban Hawkins & the 1001 Spikes is an expanded version which reportedly features new graphics, art, music, sound, and four-person local multiplayer. Welp, I'll be double dipping. The game will be out first on the eShop this year, followed by the Wii U release potentially around the time that platform launches.

Awesome news all around. Now let's make this a success so Nicalis picks up The Tempura of the Dead.

Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes' level editor in action

We haven't heard anything from Nicalis about their forthcoming 3DS/Wii U/and-maybe-other-consoles title Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes in a while. That's probably because they've been busy with stuff like Ikachan, Guxt, Ra...more

Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes aims for the big time

Aban Hawkins and 1,000 Spikes (by 8BitsFanatics) didn't get a fair shake. The game is better than 99% of the stuff on the Xbox Live Arcade marketplace, but sadly, that's not where it even ended up. Instead, it launched on XB...more
