Aaru's Awakening has gorgeous hand-drawn art

10:00 PM on 07.11.2013

It's that time again: time to watch a newly revealed game in action and be in awe of its art while simultaneously adding it to the proverbial "radar" of games to watch. Aaru's Awakening has officially been announced after being in development for around a year and the hand-drawn art is absolutely breathtaking. As if that weren't enough, the gameplay looks really interesting and solid.

As a muscular beast-thing, the player can shoot out a little ball and then teleport to it whenever they please. On top of that, the beast can charge in the direction of the cursor, adding yet more maneuverability to its arsenal. The above video does a good job of demonstrating not only the types of challenges you'll face, but also how difficult the game can be when you're talking at the same time.

Be sure to download the Alpha Demo, and if you like it, go on and give it a vote on Steam Greenlight!

Review: Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal

While Sonic Boom on the Wii U has its issues, there are also some redeeming qualities. Co-op is enjoyable, the platforming is pretty fun, and the 2D sections aren't bad. With a few more months in the oven and more polish, it could have ultimately been a decent Sonic title. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the 3DS version of Sonic Boom. There's almost nothing redeeming about it.more
