AAAaaAAaaAAAaaAAA!!! A price drop! photo

If you haven't heard about AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! -- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, I have good news for you.

Dejobaan Games' arcade-action-high-score-getting-skydiving-pedestrian-insulting most recent work -- which, by the way, is quite good -- has now experienced a permanent, 50% price drop from $20 to $9.99.

I know most regular gamers are loathe to spend twenty bucks on an indie game, so hopefully this price drop inspires more of you to go out and try AaaaaaAAaa!!!. For whatever its flaws, it's truly an experience you can't get anywhere else (not to mention, you might actually be surprised to find yourself shouting the first half of the game's name during some of the more well-designed levels).

You can find the full press release after the jump.

December 16th, 2009 - Watertown, MA - Indie studio Dejobaan Games has
lowered the price of "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! -- A Reckless
Disregard for Gravity" ("Aaaaa!") to $9.95 to fund production of its
next game. Featured in Metacritic's and Gamasutra's lists of top PC
games of 2009, Aaaaa! is now available from Direct2Drive, GamersGate,
Impulse, Steam, WildTangent, and the Dejobaan website at
www.dejobaan.com/aaaaa.

In Aaaaa!, you jump from rooftops to perform stunts, kissing steel
girders and hugging the sides of buildings for points. See that group of
spectators cheering you on? Give them the thumbs-up. That line of
protesters? Give them the finger. Round that out with a bit of civil
disobedience by spray painting government buildings. The game will also
teach you how to bake cookies using your dead son's ashes.

Aaaaa! has garnered positive press since its September '09 launch. PC
Gamer said it "wowed me with its boisterous celebration of carelessness
illuminated by harsh neon lights... Quite a rush!" Rock Paper Shotgun's
Kieron Gillen called it "[A] hyper-punishing, score-chasing laugh riot
which you will adore. And Mike Rose from Indiegames.com puts it plainly:
"Buy this game."

The studio has released few details about its upcoming 14th title. After
prototyping a number of new ideas, they say to to expect a spiritual
successor to Aaaaa! that incorporates aspects of music generation into
its core gameplay. They'll be posting more about the title in coming
weeks on their blog at www.dejobaan.com/blog.

Bla bla bla eye popping graphics bla bla jaw dropping revolutionary
gameplay bla bla. Hey, maybe I'll even include a quote from our
president. Ichiro Lambe says, "I have nothing to say. President? I mean,
'president'? Jeez, I don't have a personal jet. I don't even have a
personal jetpack. Get my my ramen noodles! I'm drunk."

I watched my little brother play the demo. I've never seen him sway and tilt his body so vigorously in vain while playing a video game before or after. I think that's called immersion.

Great game. I picked up when it was on sale on Impulse for something like $8-10. It's a great "in between" game, that I wouldn't want to sit down and play for hours at a time, but works really well in short bursts in between doing other things.

Tempting.... since it is a permanent price drop I think I am going to hold out and see what the steam holiday sale has in store for this game.
