Remember that video released last week showing how the voice actors of Booker and Elizabeth in Irrational Games' upcoming BioShock Infinite do their thing -- you know, that voice acting thing? Well today sees the release of part 2 of the little "The People Behind Booker and Elizabeth" series, and they make the person voicing Elizabeth cry.

Like the first video, this one also offers an amazing insight into how the people behind the voices of video game characters conduct their work, as well as the techniques used to get these people to sound like they're in the moment.

Holy shit, that was amazing. It's hard to say if this or Mass Effect 3 will turn out be my 2012 GOTY.

Very interesting indeed, thought their methods for this kind of stuff was less rough.

Having said that, it amazes me that this actually works, I don't think someone screaming nasty things at me would get me emotional when I know that's precisely the intention and nothing is actually meant.

That first sequence they showed Courtnee voicing Elizabeth - compare the actress's face with the characters. That really struck me - how much more going on with the actress, like the subtle head shacking, and especially the quivering lips. I wish we had the tech to do that in the game - to have Elizabeth's lips quiver the way Courtnee's did.

I really disliked when they showed the voice actor crying next to the in-game footage.. cause the character she portrays has almost zero emotion on her face compared to the voice actor... I am not going to look at any more of this media because it's just going to make me think of how more believable the voice actors are instead of the game...

Voice actor is tears, video game character's eyes don't even blink or shutter...

And that is why voice actors are needed in this industry. Props to Irrational Games for showing how it is done.

Around the 1:20 mark were they show Elizabeth and her voice actor, who else thought the voice seemed more natural coming out of the video game character's mouth?
