A Squaresoft fan's dream auction... except for the price photo

Squaresoft fans: You've been a bit outspoken lately due to the direction the company has been taking as Square Enix, but you know you've got a soft spot for the classic Squaresoft titles. If you're the real deal, you've got chocobo plushies on your desk and still whip out Secret of Mana from time to time. And you might have a couple of Final Fantasy soundtracks. If you're one of the Squaresoft faithful, this recent eBay auction might appeal to you.

Over 100 items from the good ol' days of Squaresoft were auctioned off by a "long time fan and collector" that needed the money. It's a sad story, especially after seeing what they auctioned off. Old Square gems like King's Knight and Rad Racer join all of the Super Famicom releases, US releases, and many of the PlayStation titles. I have no idea why Final Fantasy VII is missing from this collection, though.

Judging by the auction page, it looks like the auction was successful. Did they spend $10,845? Shipping was included!

Would this stuff be worth that to you? Me? Not so much. The soundtracks are fakes, for one.

Honestly, if I were him, I'd take out a loan or find some other way of procuring cash...you know in a few years, he's going to be kicking himself in the ass for selling off all of this stuff. I sold off a fraction of what he is selling, and while I managed to get most of it back, there are few that I'm still pissed I sold off and can't re-purchase.

How can you tell that the CDs are fake?

Very cool, but I have one big question that no one ever asks

Why is it, on ANY ebay auction, the people seeling always think that the buyers are complete idiots.

"Opened 10 years ago to see if game worked, handled with gloves"

I call BS. Its its like all the idiots that opened their PS3s then tried to sell them as NEW but had to check if it worked. Once you crack the seal it is USED, just as bad as gamestop or walmart opening up the games to put the sensors in them. Then trying to sell them to you at the NEW price.

BS

@SpencesGifts - Judging by the rest of the stuff he has/ the way he's handling everything I think it's pretty safe to say the man is probably telling the truth. Besides would it really matter if it had been played with?

final fantsy 7 and 9 sucked anyway leaving it out is a good thing.

Seiken Densetsu 3 can take both there places.

I got most of this junk anyway

They put in final fantasy tactics that sucked worse than final fantasy 7 and 8 combined.

If final fantasy 9 and final fantasy tactics are in it No sale.

I don't want all that final fantasy 7 and 8 crap just the Chrono trigger and secret of mana stuff that I already got and don't need.

there missing a ton of Chrono Trigger and secret of mana collect items/music CD/clocks. so this is not a sqaure soft dream auction.

The soundtracks are rip off Taiwan versions.

The real FFVII soundtrack (collector's edition) is like a big book - bigger than a vinyl LP. VIII's was in a tall cloth book, if I remember.

But still, I'd give a nut for all this stuff. I'd just get rid of the soundtracks.
