Donya Fortress is the second new map to be shown off from the Close Quarters downloadable content pack for Battlefield 3 and is a small, vertical focused level designed for confined, frantic gameplay. Like Ziba Tower, you can't straight up obliterate all the walls, beams, floors and other key elements. You will, however, be able to put holes through walls and see lots of debris and objects getting kicked up into the air as the bullets hit. You can't use vehicles here at all plus you'll be limited to just 16 players, as anything more would be too much insanity for how small the maps are.
I also got to check out the new game mode called Conquest Domination. It's like Conquest where you have to capture multiple points, but due to the tight nature of the maps you'll be capturing points within five to ten seconds once in the vicinity of the flag. The end goal is the same as regular Conquest, hold the three points longer than the other team while whittling down the enemy's tickets.
The map was pretty fun, and offers something for players who can't handle the vehicle focused nature of the main maps. Close Quarters will also be adding ten new guns (listed below) and ten new assignments for players to clear. All this will run $14.99 and will be out in June 2012 for all three platforms, with PlayStation 3 owners getting the new content a week early.
