Andriasang brings us some video and images of what Bayonetta looked like before she became the vixen we all now know. The video comes via a recent MTV special on the game where we learn that there were over 100 designs of Bayonetta before they picked the final model.

The MTV special above also shows Bayonetta speaking in Japanese, something that's not in the final game. I still find it odd that the Japanese version doesn't feature any Japanese voice actors, but thankfully the English voice actors are pretty decent.

Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end as Bayonetta shows off her dance moves. Faptastic!

In all likelihood Bayonetta's Japanese voice was selected for the use of the video, since an in-character-narrated behind-the-scenes vid would be difficult to view if the character didn't speak Japanese.

That said, that voice is Atsuko Tanaka (hence the video name "Atsukonetta"), who voices the Major in Ghost in the Shell, among other sexy roles. Rough fappiness equivalent in English voice-acting is Jennifer Hale. Mmmm.

NO! You all need to form a society so I can quit reading that question. Trust me the resistance is alive and well.

Anyways this was an MTV special? Hmm...interesting. They're really gonna try and strike gold this time, eh?

A Bayonetta story not by Jim Sterling? LUDICROUS!
Also: I kinda like Bayonetta's japanese voice better than the english one.

I just played the Japanese PS3 demo and had a lot of fun which is weird because I never got into DMC.

I like the addition of a camel toe, but regret that they didn't put a zip opening that opens from bottom in order to facilitate quick penetration.

I find the final dance sequece moves a bit... weird. I can't decide if it is from a great animator or a poor motion capture... And I gotta say that I like the English voice better.

@ unangbangkay

I'm pretty sure it's already been stated by Hideki Kamiya that there will be no Japanese voice over for Bayonetta as it would seem right having her speak any other language than English.

I'm just glad Bayonetta has an English accent. Unlike Soul Calibur and Valkyria Chronicles where all of the fucking European characters had fucking Japanese or American voices... GAAAAAH.

@ Unangbangkay;

Really? That seems appropriate, because her voice did sound hot on Ghost In The Shell, and sounds hotter than her English-language counterpart (imo at least)...

@ Trevor McGee;

...and finding that out, that is a damn shame. :O(

Gotta admit, during that dancing sequence I had "Left, right, left, right, chu, chu, chu!" runing through my head.

Well, Platinum Games developed out of Clover Studios, part of Capcom before it was shuttered, so they likely developed a preference for English voiceovers from Capcom's preference for games with Western influences (see: Resident Evil, Dead Rising, Devil May Cry). A quick glance at other games from Clover and Platinum reveals stuff like Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, and MadWorld - pretty much everything but Okami had English voices in Japan as well.
