Here's an obligatory video featuring the various executions found in the Gears of War 3 beta.

I figure many of you haven't seen some of these moves, since it's not often you get the chance to initiate them without the opposing team taking notice. I will say, though, that people are getting better and better at saving the super long ones (e.g, the face-punching execution) for the final kill of the match.

And when you happen to be the final kill of the match, it's the worst thing ever.

My personal favorite shown here is the one where you pull a dude's arm off and pummel him with it. Kind of can't believe I wrote that sentence. Games sure can be remarkably over the top when they want to.

Wow, this game looks pretty legit in motion. Looks faster and smoother, like the 1st game!

I usually just push B to kick them like lil bitches. The shotgun homerun execution is still the best.

I get it, but shit like this isn't really for me. There's a point when it just becomes violence for the sake of violence, and its really just boring. I dunno, I never was a huge fan of fatalities in mortal kombat either

@John Johnson it's not mandatory & it doesn't detract from the experience or actual quality of the game. Plus executions weren't really a big thing in the Gears franchise until Gears 2 so keep in mind it's more like a nod to fans rather than a major part of the game. Plus it helps keep those who love humping distracted a bit longer.

I'm digging how the camera seems to have been zoomed out ever-so-slightly. It gives a slightly better field of view.

A lot of those execcutions look the same, but the smoke bomb followed by retro lancer charge seems like something I will be trying a lot.

Half of the executions are just bashing the enemy in the head with the butt of the gun. Reeeeaaaal creative stuff right there.

It might just be me, but ive always hated that retarded "blood splatters on the screen" effect in Gears.

Other than that the game looks swell, but i dont own a 360 anymore so theres that.

"Bloody screen! So reeeeal!"

Protip: almost every M-rated action game does the 'blood-on-the-screen' thing

I love doing the Hammerburst execution. So entertaining.

The worst thing is being the last guy to die when playing as COG. You KNOW your arm is getting ripped off.

Gosh, most of these are lame as fuck. What happened to the ultra violence? I like the flamethrower one, though.

If anyone's still interested in getting a Gears Of War 3 beta key, I found some being handed out on a blog. It was free, too.

I don't know if any of the keys are left, but you can try here:

Hey, they forgot that grenade pin then kick the enemy to his fellas, didn't they?

BTW, lookin sweet, I'm gonna buy it for sure.

And for those not fond of executions, no problem. Just keep shooting the bastard till he dies.

Torque Bow execution is still my favorite.

@nanowerx: Yeah, and its always stupid.

Also, most shooters do it to show your health, Gears just does it for the sake of it. Which would be okay, but in a lot of those situations it actually obscures the view and you dont see the executions properly.
Kinda defeats the purpose.
