A handful of sexy Fallout 3 screenshots for you photo

We've just gotten some new Fallout 3 screenshots, something of great interest to people who may collect Fallout 3 screenshots for some sort of scrap book or twisted Pagan effigy.

As always, there is the usual theme of desolate post-nuclear wasteland for you to enjoy, but I have to say that I am loving the status screen. Crying crippled boys are brilliant, and I am relieved that Bethesda is providing an homage to them.

This game cannot come quickly enough. I have been itching for a good Western RPG since Oblivion, and Two Worlds was not it. Some dystopian shenanigans are long overdue.

The only thing that can truly display how I feel right now is a picture of Jesus riding a dinosaur:

For some reason the image of an extra-large mutant going down like a ton of bricks because his foot is gone is strangely hilarious to me. Perhaps it's because I can't figure out how he's landing on his neck if his leg just got blown off.

The third screen shot of the guy getting his leg blown off is the best. I can't wait for this game.

I am still cautiously optimistic.

(I loved Fallout 1 & 2, but I thought Oblivion was a huge letdown).

Sometimes, my head feels crippled too.

@king3vbo - Epic. I wonder if Crayola would ever make Flesh of Christ as a crayon in their 500,000 megabox of color? XD

Since I haven't played Fallout 1 or 2, I might enjoy this game quite a bit.

Oblivion was such a huge disappointment to me primarily because I loved Morrowind so much and Oblivion was a much more shallow, dumbed down experience.

@Moocow

I thought that both Morrowind and Oblivion brought something completely different to the table.

Just out of interest, am I the only one who really enjoyed Oblivion?

Sorry to burst your bubble Jim but Albert is blind rather than crying because he has a crippled leg.
You'll have to work a lot harder to get those cripple tears, what are you using them for?
I suspect they power some sort of Gentleman Dinosaur arse kicking machine.

I don't know. Am I the only one who doesn't think the game looks "clean"? Looks nice but I see a lot of jaggies. Pipboy looks kind of sexy though...

I want to put it inside me.

Also, when are we going to get some ingame video? Just releasing screenshots is so mid-to-late 90s.

No one has pointed out that these are most likely xbox360 screenshots, hence the RT and LT labels in the first screen.

one of the few games i preorder. for the CD sampler and to stake on of the CE. Most CE are crap and I don't really bother buying them. The exception was Bioshock because that was worthwhile special edition. Tin cases and making of DVDs aren't incentives for me. But statues, lunch boxes and bobble heads I am a sucker for.

I'm not familiar with the Fallout series. At first I was drawn in by the teaser trailer so I read up on the title. I know Oblivion is a critically acclaimed game but the setting just turns me off. But a dystopic irradiated? Bring it on. I'm using playing games with free so I'm curious to see if this VATS system will be compelling enough to change the way I play. I hope aiming is precise enough (without the assistance of VATS) to allow you blow limbs off like in that sweet screen.

For that last shot to be realistic, the mutant would have to have already been doing a backflip when it got it's leg blown off.

Fallout and Fallout 2 were a couple of my favorite RPG's from the early to mid 90's ended up playing the ports on my old Mac. They had so much dark sarcasm and irony peppered through the game that they still hold a place in my favorite games of all time. I remember spending hours just reading through the manual for all the funny stuff they packed into it. If they can bring that style of game into the modern age and keep the dark humor I'll be buying it on launch day.

I wonder what the in-game effects are when your head is crippled? Do you wander around throwing tantrums when you don't get your graham crackers on time?

i enjoyed oblivion.... but kind of in the way an addict enjoys crack

one of my major concerns is that they fix people's faces.... 99% of the people in cyrodil looked like mongoloids, and they all had the same voices. worse of all was that no matter what they were talking about, no matter how heart rending or terrifying, they would all revert to some goofy ass smile after they were done speaking

that being said i just finished fallout 1 and 2 for the first time recently and i am pissing my pants over this game

i enjoyed them so much in fact, i think i am going to play through 1 again

OLD OLD OLD (Had to do it I posted these like 3 months ago :P)

Still kind of looking forward to this game. I just hope Beth can manage to put a bit more choice (especially non-violent) in the game than they fit in Oblivion.

To quote my blog "that mutant must have been doing a hand-stand for that shot to blow his leg off."

He could've been knocked by an explosion or fallen off a cliff, and while midair the player went into aimed shot mode.
