Valve The Midnight Riders is looking for a few creative individuals to help put together a video for its upcoming track, "Save Me Some Sugar." The song will makes its way into the soundtrack for the upcoming Left for Dead and Left for Dead 2 downloadable content, "The Sacrifice," but what it really needs is a kick ass video.
The story goes: "Save Me Some Sugar" was the first single and music video The Riders released "for the MTV." But the video has been lost over time, but the band still wants to get something up on the YouTubes to promote it. That's where you come in.
Valve The Band has put an mp3 of the track up online, and will be accepting submissions of an original music video up until October 1. There are no rules, which means you don't have to use game footage. You can get your in-laws to dress up like bikers and prance around for all they care. I'm kind of looking forward to that, actually.
Good luck, and be sure to send us your submissions so we can laugh at you admire your work -- the videos should be put on YouTube and tagged with "L4DMNRSAVESUGAR."

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I think thats the only time I'v ever grammar nazi'd.
My band will definitely enter.
I'm sorry I realize this has so little to do with the actual post.
Microsoft will probably make you purchase it twice. I didn't even really think about that as I have the PC Version, but I can't see them making it dual platform.
Defend your use of "are," good sir! Replace "The Midnight Riders" (the band's name) with more straight forward "The band." Do you still think "are" would be correct?
That prospect makes me sad. I could see Valve being pretty pissed if that actually goes down.
Not to sound nerdy though but since they were fighting the new infected in The Passing I guess it makes more sense to get it for the second game. Nevermind the imported version of No Mercy, which will be a non factor for the first game.
However I personally prefer the maps and possibly the characters from the first game. My wallets weeps at the prospect of downloading it twice.
Well sure if you replace it, but you didn't.
:D
The band is looking for a music video, not an argument involving pointless semantics of the English language.
Is there any chance we can start extending this to corporations as well? I'm tired of seeing that "Capcom are" doing something or "Nintendo are" releasing something.
Hurts my head.
Isn't it though? On like a different level?
@Nzdjh
You mad? You should calm down.
The thing that interests me is, while I understand that it should be "Metallica is playing at such-and-such venue", I have a harder time choking down "The Beatles is playing at such-and-such venue". I'm not sure if it's the "The" in the name or the plural "s" on the end of "Beatles", but it's certainly a confusing... thing.
Also, fuck English. (I was an English major, so I can say that.)
Personally I like the demo version better :-P
