Quantcast

In my short tenure at Destructoid, I've done a lot of things I never thought I would. I've eaten cocktail sausages with games companies, I've been stranded in the Hilton Hotel with Pure Pwnage and angry Norwegians. I've telephoned Uwe Boll and I got the blame for creeping out Cliffy B. In this short career of mine however, I had until now glimpsed not into a whole other realm -- a realm where madness rules like a pied jester king and that which once made sense now addles perception in a drunken haze. Until now, but now no more, for I have unearthed the sordid, vile dimension of Tom Tommy, host of Big Smile Time.

Now ... I fear not even the dark domain of Lucifer.

What is one supposed to say to a man who dons a frog handpuppet and a Homestar Runner voice  to help him review videogames? All I know for certain is that, like a mangled wreck of melded metal and bone in the street, I cannot stop gawking. After a while of watching his Big Smile Time review, the world suddenly seems like a brighter place -- and not through optimism. I'm talking about imposing, garish colors that swirl blindingly in the mind's eye. To satiate the curiosity of man, I have provided some of the 'best' of Tom Tommy, a man who's lack of exposure on Destructoid up to now has shocked me. All respect due to Tay Zonday, but if he can become Internet famous, there's no reason for this psychopath to not have a little slice of the notoriety pie. He's either mentally stunted or the world's greatest comedy genius. He is, however, not right in the brain.

How many of his videos can you sit through? There's a prize of insanity to whoever manages all of them.

I'd love to make some creative comment like "this is so fail, It redefines the benchmark amount of fail for a youtube user to reach in order to be considered fail. It's so fail in fact, that I'd even go so far as to say that it is EPIC fail, it's actually that much fail that it has created it's own category of fail that should be considered far greater fail than any other implication of fail that has currently been expressed. It is so much fail that it has it's own eco system of fail, that lives of fail and eats fail and drinks fail and dreams of fail and reproduces fail and has it's own army, harem, society and political system of fail that it can fail at whenever fail is called upon"...

...but to be honest, it's just not very good.

He lost me the moment he mentioned online gameplay and the Wii as a feasible combination.

@Azereki:

I would have posted a picture of the Monty Python skit from Fallout 2, except I don't have that picture.

If someone can supply such an image, the world would be a much better place.

My frontal lobe started to shut down, just about managed to claw myself back from an auto-lobotomy. Ungh. Just plain bad, not even enjoyably bad, just plain bad.

PS. Fallout rocks.

He sounds kind of like an Asian kid from Brooklyn trying to do an impression of Christopher Walken.

I thought I'd be the only one to think he was trying to do a Christopher Walken.

It's sad to think about how Hitler could have saved the world from this kind of misanthropy, but if he didn't lose his European conquest and die in obscurity we wouldn't have the French to laugh at.

What a catch 22!!!

Sorry, Jim. My life was already destroyed by watching the video clip from Hamza CTZ Aziz's "A clip from King of Kong: say hello to Piger and goodbye to your sanity", so this didn't phase me much, though I'd give you your props if my life wasn't already destroyed most likely.

I'm afraid that watching that clip has drained the smart juice right out of my brain. In fact it has drained it to the point where I can only form 1 last coherent thought. The thought that I have chosen to end a life of coherency with is as follows:

WTF. Lame.
