As someone who tried to watch the first few episodes and hated it with a passion, i can safely say: nope.
GameLoft... Some of their games are really fun, a bunch are licensed cash ins, almost all are extremely buggy. When they have sales for a buck each, they're worth it.
Fucking hell, I actually like the show and I even know that this is a bad idea. Besides, why give Gameloft the license? It's probably going to be a ripoff Robot Unicorn Attack, just like what Gameloft always does.
Mobile game based on a children's cartoon? I kinda like the show but I can't imagine the game would be anything more than fanwankery in a hollow package.
Gameloft you say? Yeah, pretty much guaranteed to be shit. Good thing the fans are actually making quality games freeware games like Mane 6: Fighting is Magic and Pony Kart.

I tend to always want Open-World RPGs ...almost every hypothetical game I imagine just defaults to a vision of a huge RPG. I imagine tho, that the Bronies might prefer an MMO with custom ponies to create and play while interacting with ponies from the show. =-) I'd play that.

gameloft, i sincerely hope you make this game as awful as posible so we can watch how bronies buy it, play it, rage at it, and complain how they were fooled into buying it.
Is the show actually good? I mean, I love Legend of Korra and Avatar: The Last Airbender and they are "kids' shows". I have a feeling MLP lacks the depth and dark undertones of those shows, though. After all, not many kids' shows are about genocide.

Hmm... I'm very skeptical. I absolutely love the show, but I can't imagine a game based on it being any good. I'll just wait and see. I hope Destructoid reviews it.
@Jinx: The show is very good. Well-written and funny, definitely deserving of the fandom it has. I used to facepalm and laugh and all of that jazz before I gave the show a chance, and now I can safely say that I adore it.
@Captain N: I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Any visit to Equestria Daily will show that Hasbro has a huge connection with the fan community, and does a great deal to uphold it. While I'm skeptical that this game will be good, I would say it's a 50/50 chance that it targets bronies in some way, shape or form.

@kyousuke: I've noticed that! As a fan myself, I've never really tried to yell at people why they're horrid human beings if they don't watch the show, and I've never really seen another brony do it either. It irks me when bronies kind of just tell people, "Hey, watch this show, it's cool! But if you don't, that's cool too!", and then people who've never given the series a chance write paragraphs-long rants in all-caps about how bronies are some bizarre, freakish scum of the Earth. Talk about a damn double standard, eh?

I agree with Vic, here. If they didn't care about the bronies, they wouldn't give cameos to fan favorites, like Vinyl Scratch / DJ PON-3, Doctor Whooves (they actually use that name internally when referring to him) and especially Derpy, though the latter's speaking role in one episode was censored because of some butthurt people crying ableism and ridiciuling disabled people (which is silly - Derpy isn't disabled, she's just crosseyed and clumsy, and the reason her voice sounded so deep and "retarded" in the episode was mainly because Tabitha St. Germain thought she was a boy).
Not to mention that the animators, voice actors and even Lauren herself attend brony conventions, and Jon DeLancie is Kickstarting a brony documentary (I think he's well exceeded his goal by now, too).
In short, good things come out of the fandom and the relationship between it and Hasbro / the show's production team. :P Though I do disagree with their choice of developer... knowing the fandom, I predict they'll do something to make Hasbro aware of their poor choice and recommend better ones.

If it is fun, I'd definitely buy it. Gameloft hasn't released anything worthwhile in ages, however. "Castle of Magic" and "Soul of Darkness" were their last two decent games.
Part of the reason I love the show now is because of how aware Hasbro is about their new audience (One episode had the fucking Jesus from The Big Lebowski). Somehow I doubt this game will any of that.

If it were a genuinely good game, sure. With Gameloft at the helm, that might even be possible. Buuuuuuut...I really don't think this will be anything other than a mini-game compilation or pet simulator of some kind. Fandom has us covered with awesome material, anyways.
