Magical Battle Festa

A fighting game about mages with armies of robots

7:00 AM on 07.02.2014

Have you heard of Magical Battle Festa? Chances are pretty good the answer to that question is no. The indie fighter launched quietly this spring, with little in the way of promotion or fanfare. But, as luck would have it, the title's being given a second chance at bewitching the PC crowd.

The localization-smiths at Playism are conjuring up a Steam version, which is slated to arrive on Valve's coveted service this fall. The key addition here is utilization of Steamworks matchmaking, which should make finding players to spar with online a real breeze. You know, if enough folks get on board.

Review: Axiom Verge

It seems like a foregone conclusion when looking at Axiom Verge that comparisons are going to be made to Metroid. It is, without doubt, similar in more ways than it differs from Nintendo's iconic franchise. The differences matter, though, and Axiom Verge merges classic environment design with new mechanical twists, producing a game that feels both familiar and fresh at the same time.more
