Quantcast

Crackdown is full of surprises. Because of the randomness inherent in the game, pretty much anything and everything can happen -- as a result, something new is always popping up you weren't aware of.

Well, as I got up this morning and checked my e-mail, a reader (Mabec) sent me a picture of a billboard in Crackdown that will display the top players. And what did he see and snap a photo of? Me, of course. Check it out.

Here's an example of this feature in action:

You know that about 1000 people will now send you friend invites now. But that is a very cool thing!

With it being Live aware like that, do you think that it's possible they could release a patch or update to allow more than two people to co-op at a time?

Also, was this seen in the demo or retail version of the game?

I'm guessing Mabec has a demo, but I've been playing the real version.

From the guy that made that YouTube vid above:

"There are several of these boards over the continents.
just look for the agency logo as shown below the billboard.

Aim at it with your gun and it'll show the records of the people who are ranked number 1!"

More from this guy:

"Yes I found the billboard too!
It is surrounded by this white neon light, and it has the agency symbol!

It shows like coca cola cans on it but when you stand infront of it and hold your aim at it,
It shows with big giant white letters who is in the top 100 and stuff like that. It's located in Los Muertos all the way on the south part of the map so let's say uhm.. there is this road to the right to the "VOLK" go a bit more down and there you'll find the billboard!"

I think the implementation of the billboard is neat, but I wouldn't buy the game for that reason alone...

Jumping 30 feet in the air and diving several thousand feet from the top of a sky scraper are reasons though...

I think being able to implement the Live Vision camera would've been pretty dang cool to see. Useless as all get out, but still cool on paper.

@tazarthayoot

No. In an interview (somewhere) the devs said the reason there was only two player coop was because the size and nature of the city made it too hard on the hardware to put more than two people in there at once. The example they gave was, if there's two people at opposite ends of Pacific City, doing completely different things, then the 360 is basically playing two games at once. Instead of sacrificing performance for more players, they stuck with two.

Are there two separate billboards or something? One for friends and one for overall Live performance?

I ask because above, the one billboard says Summa is ranked 392...et cetera...
