A closer look at two of Lost Planet 2's massive bosses photo

Unless Capcom pulls some crazy-stupid move between now and February 23, Lost Planet 2 is going to be one of next year's most enjoyable co-op games. The development studio hasn't exactly been known to do a silly thing like that, so I think we're mostly in the clear here.

Without warning, a massive amount of boss-centric screenshots have been tossed our way on this day of feasting. One's named Red Eye, while the other baddie goes by Akrid X. I'll let you figure out which one is which.

Recognizing some of the many images as being previously used, I tried to filter through the mess and only upload ones I thought were relatively new, or at the very least, looked pretty effing cool.

The fact that you fight the worm-looking fellow on a moving train has me thinking we aren't even close to figuring out most of Lost Planet 2's numerous surprises yet.

This game looks so fucking epic. I don't even know why we're killing monsters, but the co-op demo was fun as hell. It's like Monster Hunter with guns. I'm buying this.

This game is gonna kick so much ass. I so hope it doesn't have anything to do with the first games story either because it was kinda lame.

First game blew, but I'm REALLY pumped for this one. Like Tew said, they're bringing it in an entirely new "Phantasy Star/Monster Hunter" like direction, and I love it. Giant alien boss battles with guns also reminds me of the newer PS2 Contras.

So, never having played Lost Planet I got the Lost Planet co-op demo. That demo was fucking epic, it took me a good 20-30 minutes to bring down the final boss (I played through by myself), getting sucked inside it and taking it out from there turned out to be the key. In the end I was pretty close to being annihilated by the thing, such a satisfying win. Takes the cake for best demo I've played for a while.

The huge bosses are what I liked most about the first game and from this it seems that they'll improve on it vastly! great news I'd say :-D

Imagine 4 Weskers all pumping fresh oversized Magnum rounds into this behemoth's...er...face. Epic, indeed.

Never played the first game but I love shooters. Is it worth the $10 gamestop is asking?

@xenoslave42 : Yes! It's worth $10, the graphics is pretty good, it uses the same game engine as RE5 and I love game levels that always end with a boss fight, some bosses are mechs robots and some bosses are bugs/akrids. And the Lost Planet:Colonies edition let you play as the bugs on multiplayer.

I don't know why they want to show us pictures of so many bosses even before the game is out. Silent Hill: Homecoming show about 60% of their bosses before the game's release. They kind of takes away the surprises.

I recommend the first game to everybody. Really. It's stupidly cheap now and it's actually really decent if you skip all of the cutscenes. Awesome graphics, tons of different Akrid types - flying, rolling, swarming, fast, massive - fun weapons, mech battles (even one epic battle in the sky), giant bosses.

The game has a lot to offer, and all that combined with a fun online aspect that lets you play as the Akrid and verse a team of players.

Go buy it if you really want to play LP2!

Yeah I think I will get the first one now too. But I don't think you need to play it to have fun. I mean I've dived into the co-op without knowing anything about it and it was love at first sight. The enemies are so awesome. I'm not only talking about the big bosses. I love the way the little critters move and react to your bullets. It's going to be so much fun when it comes out.
