We're out of adjectives to positively describe ABAHB. WayForward is not making our jobs easy. Every time we get a new bit of information, an exclusive, some screens or a new video on A Boy and His Blob we have to come up with new ways to basically say "this made us drool." Once again they have done it to us by delivering a video of one of the game's bosses. If you weren't sure of the game's gameplay before, this intriguing boss might seal the deal or at least reaffirm that this is one of the best looking platformers we've ever seen.
If you're watching this thinking you can't make it until the game's launch because you need blob action now, please just hold on a little longer. The game lands this week on Oct. 13! Now to forget the video so that the boss is a big surprise when I get to it.

How can they look into my eyes.
Whenever I played the NES original I would sing those dumb little lyrics with a pretty accurate Morrisey voice. I would chuckle as I looked around to make sure nobody was watching. Was I weird.
I usually say gameplay is always above graphics and I still have an interest in this game but its art style really turns me off. Not the character designs because I think the simple designs of the charcters and enemies look wonderful which is why the backgrounds look so out of place.
They're much more detailed than the eveything else and that just makes them look uglier in comparision. I never seen something before this game in my life that I actually wished someone put less effort into designing.
"8.0: A Boy and His Blob Wii is a lovable romp that shouldn't be missed. However, it's short length and relatively low replay value may turn off some gamers".
So yeah, the game's not short. Actually, I'm not sure that why it didn't get a 9 or even 10 from Nintendo Power. Beautiful, refreshing, and challenging are the three words they use to describe the game. They don't say one bad thing about the game in the entire review.
I reckon, sadly, that you may be correct. Alot of recent great Wii games have been especially short form. I hope you're wrong, but I'd take your side in a bet.
Definitely looks akin to heart of darkness. I played the original for 20 minutes today. It has a cool feel (Very different to this in looks), and remembering what each jellybean does is quite cool. However there are some pretty random elements, like having to remember where to drop down from the subway becuasse most of the drops lead to failure. Not that no information and random level design weren't synonymous with NES.

An 85 from Nintendo Power and somewhere in the 70s from IGN.
Love the art style though and when I re-repurchase a Wii it will be a rent for sure.

Freaking beautiful.
:(
This is a retail game, not a Wiiware game.
Best news i've heard all day!
I blame IGN for misinforming me, a while ago.
Here's the question: does it take 1-2 minutes each to do the "80" stage? I have no idea.

They should include the original as an Easter Egg...
