With the staggering amount of new and exciting games on the horizon, it's easy for some to get lost in the frenzy. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is one such title that I personally keep forgetting about, but then perking up in excitement every time I'm reminded. I really must write all these games down in a notebook.
Eidos Interactive's squad-based shooter promises to be a dark and gritty thriller of a ride, and I'm already sold. Our very own Nex got himself a hands-on with this title at PAX and found a solid title whose reliance on teamwork set it apart from the other third person shooters out there. The ally AI looks somewhat competent and your partners definitely appear to hold their own, so this should be one of the few games that make you feel like a cohesive unit. Throw in the co-op prospects with another human player and this is set to be a winner.
After the jump, there are three more vidoes for you. The nightclub missions looks especially awesome, both in terms of how you move through the crowded area and how the visuals look terrific. I also like how Kane and his pals wear different clothes with each mission. It's a tiny detail, but I always approve of the simple things. Somebody fetch me that notepad.
Why am I not excited for this at all?
I want to be..but i'm not.
The first video reminds me of a slower Gears of War, with less witty banter, aliens, and chainsaw guns.
@cheseburga
It's got the stuff I didn't like about gears of war removed: Marine banter, weak alien guns, and tank enemies that don't go down if you shoot them in the fucking head

Guess I'm one step ahead of you. A couple months ago I sat down and make up a database (I use Microsoft Access in my free time lolz) of all the games I own and am interested in. It sure has been helpful with keeping track of the deluge of titles we're in the midst of.
In the first video i can't tell if the guy playing just sucks or if the controls/interface are poorly designed. If it's the mechanics of the game then i'm never going to touch this thing, but if the person controlling it just sucks then that's fine
you should make an account on 1up.com and add a bunch of games that you're interested in on your "tracked" list or your "wishlist". Then you can also friend your favorite editors like oldies Shoe and Crispin!
I spent this past weekend playing through Freedom Fighters all over again. Right after I finished playing, and seeing these videos. I can now say that my interest in this game has been peaked quite significantly.
I've done that for at least four years now for all the games I eventually want to own, for pretty much every recent system. Sadly, I can never seem to get the list to decrease. Every time I take a few off from purchases, a few more appear...
I am personally very excited for this game. I am hoping that the story holds up and is a kind of dark comedy shoot em up.
I also played through freedom fighter's recently and still enjoyed that game alot. It was very easy to order your comrades around and i liked the way the game played. Lets hope they kep kind of the same interface because it worked so well it would only need a few enhancements.
