Square Enix forms mobile studio, more quality spin-offs headed your way
I think I'm starting to privately hate the Enix half of Square-Enix. Although I can't necessarily prove that they are the problem, I can say that before Square joined forces with them, I liked them a lot better. The more sequels and spin-offs they make of Final Fantasy, the more I have no idea who they are anymore. It really is rather love affair-esque, right down my inability to let them go. Anyway, Square have decided it would be a good idea focus more energy on mobile gaming, so the formation of the Square Enix Mobile Studio was announced in Japan today. The new studio will beheaded up by Yoichi Haraguchi, Square's current head of mobile. They estimate they will have twenty employees in their first year of operation. Maybe I shouldn't blame them, but all I know is, If I have to see the rerelease of Final Fantasy VII on a cell phone, I may very well kill myself. Mark my words. [Via IGN - Thanks, Jonathan]
