zelda

This trailer gave me a case of the vapors. Those three Zelda games may look similar to those who only have a passing familiarity with the series, but for those who've played them all in-depth, they represent three very ...
Sheik's character trailer is out for Hyrule Warriors, and I'm satisfied. With equal amounts harp carnage, ninja moves, and speed, Sheik is a forced to be reckoned with. Out of all of the fighters I've seen so far, Sheik is one of the fastest, if not the fastest in the game. I love that "ninja run," where characters have their arms backward, while destruction is happening all around them.
Most of the official trailers for Hyrule Warriors are short compilations showing off big and boisterous attacks. What they haven't shown is much of the game's overall flow and pacing. That's caused some to worry that Nintend...
We've seen nearly every other character in action so far in Hyrule Warriors except for the newly announced Sheik, Darunia, and Ruto, and now it's the latter princess' turn to show her stuff. Like Fi, her moves have a bi...
Smooth McGroove does it again with this wonderful arrangement of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link's Temple/Palace Theme. This man is a bundle of talent and I can't wait to see his next new take on an old classic. As a rule, YouTube personalities don't normally impress me in this manner, but I've enjoyed Smooth's takes on classic gaming tunes. Perhaps it'll brighten your day a bit as well.
We've already seen [Queen] Zelda with her signature sword in Hyrule Warriors, but now Koei Tecmo is showing off footage of her conducting death and destruction on the battlefield. It looks like an area-of-effect weapon ...
The Hyrule Warriors trailers keep coming, and now the final video for all of the announced characters has rolled in -- Fi. Her acrobatic style fits right in with the Dynasty Warriors series, and it looks like ...
As I've discussed many times before, I like the idea of Fi in theory, in terms of her character design (that skating was awesome), and her place in the story. But in practice, she ended up being a 40 hour long tutorial that w...
Midna is pretty brutal in Hyrule Warriors. PETA won't be happy about her riding wolves. Less happy about tossing one as a projectile. Then there's the 25 cent machine sticky hand coming out her head. It'll be covered in dirt and won't stick to a thing in a day.  Check out trailers for Link, Zelda, Impa, Lana, and Agitha.
So far we've seen footage of Link, Zelda, Impa, and Lana, and now Agitha from Twilight Princess is up. Although everyone else seems to follow the traditional melee and caster roles, Agitha is a bit of a wildcard, summon...
Lana will be playable in Hyrule Warriors, and will be bringing her witch-powers to wow Link and Zelda. Her main gimmick is creating magical barriers (rectangles of sorts) that can push enemies back as well as explode for ext...
Skyward Sword and 1001 Spikes may not look like they have a lot in common, but they share a lot of the same design sensibilities. Both games are about exploring relatively small, densely packed areas that appear simple on th...
This is one of those games that's just plain fun to look at, wouldn't you say? The Japanese Hyrule Warriors website has been updated with loads of new screenshots, and a look at (premium) alternate costumes for Zelda and Link...
When I posted videos featuring Link last week in Hyrule Warriors, everyone responded -- "great, but where's Impa and Zelda!" Well, we've already seen the former, but now Zelda's moves are on display for all to see in this ne...
Koei Tecmo has been putting out a lot of footage for Hyrule Warriors lately, but most of it has been about Link. Now you can get a chance to see what Impa's all about in her new trailer, complete with a giant sword and ...
You've seen Link wreck shop with his sword in Hyrule Warriors, now you can watch him destroy entire armies with the Fire Rod. It functions as a flame thrower, projectile launcher, and even has an ultimate move that...
Hyrule Warriors is starting to come together. We know a few of the core characters, a ton of info, and we even have a release date. All there's left to do is wait, and in the meantime, you can watch this pretty badass c...
Zelda Williams has had an interesting presence at E3 2014, and given her namesake it's not surprising to see her hanging around. But regarding her "extra special" surprise at E3 that we touched upon late in May, she may have ...

LEGO has a pretty cool website where people can essentially crowdvote on LEGO ideas that they'd like to become a reality. Since all of the licensing deals have to be worked out before it hits the market it's not a 100% foolpr...
Zelda Williams has been involved with Nintendo for quite some time, lending them a hand with promotional materials and commercials as a fan of their games. But she also has something else planned this year -- an "extra specia...
As I said in my Zelda Quest, Minish Cap is a pretty underrated game in general. It arrived at the twilight of the Game Boy Advance, when the DS was hitting its stride, and many people skipped it as a result. But th...
Word has it that Hyrule Warriors launches for Wii U in Japan on August 14, 2014. That comes direct from Famitsu and there's of course no news on a Western date yet. However, some bits and pieces have been translated, such as ...
Ready to cut through legions of Zelda opponents a la Dynasty Warriors? Tecmo Koei's Hyrule Warriors is releasing in Japan for Wii U this summer, according to a document recently released by Nintendo. As far as how long it'll ...
Good Smile Company's impossibly cute Nendoroid Link was already open for some pre-orders, but now he's good for pre-ordering all over, including with Good Smile proper. He ships in August, priced at 4,000 yen (about $39). But...

While it may be a good idea for Nintendo to let people buy their games through Steam, it may be an even better idea for them to start running their own Twitch streams allowing for communal play on their classic games. Twitch ...
I always wanted to travel to The Legend of Zelda's Hyrule, among other amazing fantasy worlds I've virtually visited; that is until I saw these amazingly disturbing pictures by artist Nate Hallinan. Seriously look at that skulltula... WTF! And I thought Australia had it bad when it came to eight-legged critters.

At some point, there will be an HD Zelda game and, for our sake, I hope it does away with the constant hand-holding and extended intros that were present in Skyward Sword, among other games. Right now, none of us have any idea what Nintendo has planned for the next coming of Zelda on the Wii U, but one thing's for sure -- I hope it looks to A Link Between Worlds for guidance.
This unboxing will look like pure braggery, but that's not the point. I really wanted to show you the beautiful new golden, Triforce-d The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL bundle. We cut the box right open as so...
Back when it was discovered that the main theme for Skyward Sword was actually Zelda's Lullabye rewound, my mind nearly exploded. The Zelda series has always had some of the most memorable melodies in gaming, but to think on...
