March's Games with Gold are some of the best games photo
March's Games with Gold are some of the best games
by Brett Makedonski

In the recent past, Xbox Live's Games with Gold program has had mostly the same cadence every month: a standout title, an indie game, and a bit of filler. March breaks that mold with three superb games from 2013.

March's Xbox One title is Rayman Legends, which just happened to be my game of the year in 2013. Seriously, it's amazing. When informed of the selection, Destructoid editor Jordan Devore couldn't control his outbursts, exclaiming "So dang good!" and "Those games are masterful."

Legacy console Xbox 360's titles aren't slouches either. Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider kicks off the first half of March, and BioShock Infinite holds down the back-end. All three games here are certainly worth downloading and playing.

And, as an added bonus, Microsoft has announced that April will double down on Games with Gold. That means two games on Xbox One, and four on Xbox 360. Microsoft claims that this is to celebrate the program crossing 100 million game downloads across its lifetime. Whatever the reasoning, Xbox Live subscribers will certainly welcome the freebies.

Rocksmith will turn you into a guitar legend like Hendrix or the guy from Papa Roach

Rocksmith 2014's getting some DLC songs by Papa Roach today. One time in eighth grade, a kid in my class started a speech by saying "Cut my life into pieces, this is my bat report. Echolocation, no seeing. Vampire bat bite your arm, now you're bleeding." I wonder what he's up to. Probably not playing Papa Roach songs on Rocksmith, if I'm being really honest.

Crystal Dynamics: Tomb Raider partnership with Microsoft began in 2008

At gamescom 2014, Rise of the Tomb Raider caused waves when it was revealed to be an Xbox exclusive. Well, sort of an exclusive. More like a timed exclusive. But, regardless of the confusion surrounding the announce...

Very Quick Tips: Resident Evil: Revelations 2's Raid Mode photo
Very Quick Tips: Resident Evil: Revelations 2's Raid Mode
by Chris Carter

I'm thoroughly impressed by Capcom's efforts with Resident Evil: Revelations 2's Raid Mode. It's much deeper compared to previous efforts, augmented by a sleeker interface and a seamlessly integrated mini-story.

Because of that it may take a little bit longer to acclimate, so here are some tips.

Review: Resident Evil: Revelations 2: Episode 1 photo
Review: Resident Evil: Revelations 2: Episode 1
by Chris Carter

Resident Evil is in a weird place. After the middling Resident Evil 6 and the public flogging of Operation Raccoon City, I'm sure Capcom got the message that it needed to go back to basics. It did just that with Revelations on the Nintendo 3DS, which was met with enough positivity to warrant a full-on set of console ports.

Then Capcom reached overwhelming amounts of success with Resident Evil HD, a game that's as basic as you get in terms of fundamental survivor horror. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 may be more action-oriented than some other entries, but it's a damn fine showing for the series.

Note to self: Replay Rez at least once a year

On the rare occasion I use my Xbox 360, I'm amazed the thing still works. It's laughably slow to boot up, full of games as it is, and having gone through several broken systems last generation, there's a lingering fear that t...
