Next week's PC beta for The Crew sounds fairly big

Ubisoft's closed PC beta for The Crew will begin a couple days earlier than previously announced. It's now set to take place from July 21 - 25. What's going to be playable, exactly? A decent amount, considering The Crew's ma...

Review: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Patch 2.3) photo
Review: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Patch 2.3)
by Chris Carter

The last time we left off in our assessment of Final Fantasy XIV's patch 2.3, I had experienced most of the tertiary level content, ready to face off against the big boss Ramuh himself in his true form, alongside of playing more Frontlines PVP and of course, more hunting.

Over the past week and a half I've tried just about everything there is to try, and I found that overall, it's getting people to do a diverse array of content -- as opposed to 2.2 which generally funneled people into a few venues. It's not the most balanced patch, but it adds a ton of stuff to do other than grind out end-game tokens, and I'm sure that makes a lot of former subscribers happy.

Barf a clone into existence in Styx: Master of Shadows

"Don't be stupid. Goblins don't exist. You don't even know what one looks like." With Styx: Master of Shadows being a stealth game in which you play as a goblin -- the first of all goblins, at that -- yeah, I suppose the guy...

Crummy: Power Rangers' Saban is going after Chroma Squad

Risen 3's Demon Hunters faction sounds like the one to side with

First came the CGI trailer for Risen 3: Titan Lords, and now, screenshots. The one above? My favorite of the pack by a wide margin. Some of the others are oddly blinding. The game features three factions and one of them is ca...

Video: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's new Stingray vehicle, Athena breakdown, and smart guns?
by Bill Zoeker

I got my hands on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel recently, and I've got some hot info on the new mechanics, and one of the new player characters, Athena the Gladiator. The game's new Stingray vehicle has a neat trick to it, there may be smart-targeting laser guns in this new iteration, most importantly, Athena is definitely a badass.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel releases in North America on October 14th, 2014; with the worldwide release following on the 17th.

David Braben hopes Elite: Dangerous will be 'future proof'

Slender: The Arrival is coming to consoles, bringing new VHS-based terrors photo
Slender: The Arrival is coming to consoles, bringing new VHS-based terrors
by Bill Zoeker

Slender: The Arrival is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year, and it's arriving with some added content (which owners of the game on PC will receive for free). Casey Lynch from Midnight City came by to play through one of the new levels with Max.

The level shown in the above video actually takes place on a VHS tape being viewed by another character from the game. It puts the player in the shoes of CR, who is investigated the disappearance of a child named Charlie Matheson.
