Here's Max, describing Far Cry 4 in a way that's entirely fitting of Far Cry 4:

"When you're talking about a videogame, it's like 'Here are all the different mechanics that they've introduced for this game, it's coming to the following next-gen consoles...' You can ride a fucking elephant, and you can kill people with the fucking elephant. What do I have to say to you? I don't really know what to say about this. I'm very tired. It's hot and noisy here. Anyway, back to the actual details..."

Said details include grappling hooks, gyrocopters, mortars, chunks of meat, and other means with which to "liberate" outposts. And possibly yetis? One can only hope.

Hello Games' sci-fi exploration survival game No Man's Sky is looking and sounding as amazing and unbelievable as ever. Here's an in-depth conversation with founder Sean Murray at E3 2014 explaining what is and isn't possible within the procedurally-generated title.

"This isn't an ambient universe," he said. "This isn't something you just wander around and look at trees and breathe it in. There is danger everywhere. So the creatures are dangerous, the ecology. But more than that, in space, there are friends -- like the wingmen who fly besides you, the enemies who are attacking those freighters -- but in terms of gameplay systems, this is a universe and you make your own gameplay within that."

Those ships shown in the most recent trailer were AI-controlled, but the universe in No Man's Sky is shared. "You could encounter other players," Murray explained.

"The reality is the likelihood of that is tiny, basically. What we're dealing with is planet-sized planets -- so even just one planet, if a million of us played, we would still be really far apart." That said, "...there are elements where you will get crossover and interaction from other players, but that's not what this game is about ... We're the opposite of an MMO."

As high as expectations are, I have a feeling Hello Games will deliver, or come remarkably close.

This marks the second E3 we've seen Tom Clancy's The Division, an ambitious online open-world RPG that sees a players dealing with a disaster after society has fallen. This is also the second year in a row that we could not get our hands-on with the game.

Instead, Ubisoft played through a build for us. First they showed us what you all got to see during Ubisoft's press conference (video above). Then we got to see the same area, but during a nighttime setting.

Ubisoft took a bold step in opting to release Assassin's Creed Unity exclusively on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. With a fragmented userbase on consoles, publishers are mostly taking the predictable approach of launching games on last- and this-gen systems, obviously to maximize sales. Maybe the business-savvy (or at least conventional) logic backs this decision, but that's not what Ubisoft's doing with Assassin's Creed Unity.

By dedicating itself to developing solely on the most powerful platforms available, Ubisoft has opened the door to make the most involved and detailed Assassin's Creed title yet. That's a good thing because if our hands-off demo is any indication, Paris during the French Revolution has many stories to tell.

Criterion's Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit was one of my favorite games of the last console generation, so the news that the team is working on a brand new IP that goes beyond racing is really exciting.

At EA's press conference, very early alpha footage was shown of the still unnamed title that showed players using all kinds of vehicles from speedboats to helicopters in what looks to be a huge open-world, racing playground.

This could be really cool as some of the concept art we saw was neat, from jet skis flying down a water slide to a player diving from a crashing helicopter onto an ATV.

As a result of THQ's fire sale at the beginning of 2013, several IPs were ushered off to new homes, just waiting for someone to advance their stories while being published under a new banner. One such example is Homefront, which was met with a relatively poor reception upon release in 2011. Now, Crytek has scooped up the rights and plans to reinvent the property with a sequel.

Homefront: The Revolution sees a continuation of the world that Homefront introduced us to, but from a different angle. It's now four years after the initial invasion by North Korean forces, and the United States is completely occupied. The North Koreans have opted to establish their base in Philadelphia, which is the setting for the game.

Natural Selection began life in 2002 as a mod that successfully married the first-person shooter and real-time strategy genres. It's since gone on to eat up the last 12 years of developer Unknown Worlds' time as they created a sequel, and even an eSports tournament around it. Now, development of Natural Selection II is being handed over to the dedicated community around the game as the studio focuses on their next project, Subnautica.

Subnautica, a vast departure for Unknown, is an underwater exploration and survival game that doesn't have an emphasis on combat. It made its worldwide debut at PAX East and, despite hiding the game inside a little booth on the showfloor, I saw people lining up every day of the show just to see what this new title was all about.

I visited the team at Unknown Worlds and talked to co-founder Charlie Cleveland to see what the public reception was like, and got some new details on what they hope to achieve with Subnautica

Review: Watch Dogs

What I love most about my job is that I get to test out everything in its final, ready to deliver form, free of the binds of hype. For what feels like half my lifetime, Ubisoft has been trying to convince us that Watch Dogs will change everything. It doesn't.

If you come in expecting a polished high-budget venture on par with the Grand Theft Auto series, you're going to be disappointed. But if you think of it like a more arcadey take on the open world genre, you'll have a lot more fun.

Oh, and you can totally become a giant Spider-Tank and blow people up.
