Cannon Brawl is the kind of game I never knew I wanted until it existed. And now that I've seen it in action, I can't wait to get my hands on it! This mix of artillery and real-time strategy is currently available via Steam early access for just 10 bucks (or $15 if you buy two), so go check it out!

Next week, Japan Expo launches its first convention on US soil! Japanator's Hiroko Yamamura had the pleasure of attending their expo in Paris last year, and was totally blown away by all the exciting events they had to offer. In addition to all the anime, and gaming taking place throughout the weekend, the Expo will also allow con-goers a taste of Japanese culture.
There's going to be martial arts demos, traditional crafts, and lots of yummy food in Santa Clara on August 23rd-25th, and we want to make sure we meet up with some of our readers while there, so we'll be giving away some tickets!

Skullgirls may not release on Steam until August 22nd, but the beta is currently in full swing for those who already pre-ordered the game (and has been for even longer if you backed the Indiegogo project). But what are the rest of us to do? On that, Destructoid has you covered!
The first 800 people to click the big red button on our beta giveaways page will receive a code good for entry into the Steam beta! For those who haven't been following, the PC version contains balancing fixes, as well as the first DLC character, Squigly, so this is definitely something you'll want to get it on. You can rock this beta all the way up until the full release on August 22nd.

Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu is an amazing man. In addition to his musical prowess, he's also just released his first e-book, titled Blik-0 1946. The book looks fantastic and is set to Uematsu's own original score, and you can buy it right here if you'd like!
