Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will see an October release in Japan photo
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will see an October release in Japan
by Chris Carter

In this morning's Japanese Nintendo Direct, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will hit Japanese 3DS units everywhere on October 11th. Yep, this is the same game we will eventually get overseas come 2015.

As is the case with all Monster Hunter expansions, new weapons, monsters, and areas are in tow. You can get a glimpse of the update in the new video above from Capcom. Considering how many re-releases we've had lately from the series, I'm excited to see a real, new entry.

When's Marvel? Just consult the EVO 2014 schedule

EVO 2014 is this weekend. We had a lovely time covering it last year, though it doesn't look like we'll have a get together watch party this time around. That's okay. There are three different streams to watch home and a...

These Street Fighter II iPhone cases look a lot better than that lame OtterBox

The millions of different cases out there in the wild for iPhones were definitely integral in my decision to make that pricey purchase after my Android phone bit the dust, and every time I see new phone cases I covet I feel l...

The Monster Hunter 4 UK weapon contest winner is a pig club that oinks

There's going to be a long wait before most of us get to play Monster Hunter 4 on the 3DS, but in the meantime, we can enjoy the festivities from Capcom's recent weapon design contest. Sending out a casting call to all ...

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on iOS is astoundingly faithful, if you have a controller

Here we are in 2014 with an iOS port of a PSP game, in the form of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. The kicker? It's very, very good. As a port of 2008's Freedom Unite, everything is faithfully recreated on an iOS devi...

Limited Okami art prints are nice, expensive

It feels weird to get nostalgic for the PS2, but thinking about Clover will do that (also, make me want to stop working and play God Hand). We were blessed with some good stuff circa 2006. And Italy won the World Cup. If you'...

Street Fighter IV Arena is a mobile title from Capcom and Nexon

Alright, so it's no Ultra Street Fighter IV, but Capcom is working on an upcoming mobile Street Fighter title in tandem with Nexon. Sounds a bit strange, I suppose, but since it's a mobile game it makes sense. Street Fighter ...

Review: Ultra Street Fighter IV photo
Review: Ultra Street Fighter IV
by Brittany Vincent

The Street Fighter series is one that will always invariably undergo several revisions, all in the name of uncovering the perfect fighter. Ultra Street Fighter IV, the latest iteration of 2009's massively popular Street Fighter IV, is an exemplary specimen of what cherry-picking mechanics, features, brawlers, and balancing alterations can do for an already venerable fighting game.

Despite being the fifth "remix" of a solid title, Ultra Street Fighter IV is a comprehensive series of tweaks and upgrades that come together to showcase the most feature-rich version of Street Fighter IV yet.

On the surface, the alterations may not even be noticeable to players who breeze in and out of Street Fighter in a casual manner. Other than additional characters and cosmetic augments, it seems very much like the same game. Indeed, much of where Ultra Street Fighter IV's appeal will lie is within the fighting enthusiast crowd.

Tuesday Newsday: Destiny, Halo, GTA V and Emoji photo
Tuesday Newsday: Destiny, Halo, GTA V and Emoji
by Max Scoville

Here's some very flaccid news in the wake of E3 -- Destiny's Alpha is over, with a Beta next month. The game'll be a Sony exclusive in Japan. The new dude from Halo 5: Guardians has been named Agent Locke, and he'll be introduced in the Nightfall series. Capcom is essentially up for sale, kinda, sorta, and Nintendo's selling more Wii U's than you might've thought. Ubisoft apparently nerfed Watch Dogs' PC capabilities, and GTA V on PS4, PC, and Xbox One looks great and will have hammerhead sharks. Oh yeah and there's new Emoji. What? Emoji's sort of a video game.

Capcom shareholders vote not to block company sale photo
Capcom shareholders vote not to block company sale
by Abel Girmay

Capcom announced today that its latest shareholder meeting has resulted in an official end to the company's buyout defense. Originally placed in 2008, the defense strategies were set in motion to defend Capcom from being acquired by any one person or entity trying to suddenly buy a majority stock.

This doesn't make Capcom completely defenseless in the event of a buyout, but it does mean Capcom no longer has the backing of shareholders should someone try to swoop in. It's no secret that the publisher has been financially troubled as of late, and its shareholders aren't comfortable stomaching anymore it seems.

So let your imaginations run free in comments. Anyone you would like, or dislike, to see buy up a controlling share? I'll admit I'm not terribly concerned myself, but that could have more to do with my relative disinterest in Capcom's recent library.
