How eager nipples and a tight thong fought casual sexism photo
How eager nipples and a tight thong fought casual sexism
by Jim Sterling

Hawken publisher Meteor has, in its office, a piece of art featuring a woman with a bountiful underboob and very little in the way of clothing, hung in place by CEO Mark Long. The half-naked woman, named "Ruby Underboob" by employees, left a bit of a sour taste in one female employee's mouth.

"How, you ask, can I stay mad at a sweet young belle who has so obviously taken a break from her important welding to offer me apiping hot cup of coffee and/or a vigorous hand job?" wrote the employee on The Hawkeye Initiative. "If you don’t already know the answer, you might want to check out things like #1ReasonWhy, and the Bechdel Test, and also this, and this, and this and this, and all these other things. (And while we’re talking you should check out this other bullshit right here.)"

Rather than simply vent anonymously on a blog, however, the worker decided to do something proactive, and illustrate a point with a pointed illustration.

"I approached Sam Kirk, a wickedly funny co-worker who shared my sentiment. Sam, turns out, is a very talented artist who can be bribed-slash-inspired using a medley of feminist indignation, hysterical giggling, and two $90 bottles of añejo tequila."

Jimquisition: Objectification And ... Men?
by Jim Sterling

A common argument in the ongoing debate over gender and videogames is that women and men both are equally objectified. Is that really true?

As always, Emperor God King Jim Sterling puts His holy foot down and delivers wisdom true to the masses. He totally isn't smug about it, either!

This Fire Emblem scene was too hot for North America

Nintendo has done a fantastic job supporting Fire Emblem: Awakening so far, with new DLC dropping so frequently it's hard to make time for it all. However it was yesterday's map release that caught the eye of NeoGAF board mem...

Gearbox artist slams Dragon's Crown character design photo
Gearbox artist slams Dragon's Crown character design
by Jim Sterling

The Dragon's Crown "thing" shows no sign of stopping, with vehement and sometimes venomous opinions flying this way and that. To bring you up to speed, Vanillaware's upcoming brawler features a big-boobed Sorceress, the design of which is causing a ruckus.

Now an artist from a completely different studio is in the mix, Gearbox environmental artist Shaylyn Hamm. To say she's not impressed by George Kamitani's mammary magician is putting it lightly.

"I want to see more women getting interested in games and game development, but stuff like this only serves to further cement the idea that you're stepping into a male hobby rather than something that is more inclusive," she wrote on The Escapist's forums

"Also, this is the first time I've seen that character and holy shit, ahahahahahaha. That's actually something that made its way into a basically finished video game, fucking lol! Some juvenile delinquent kid in my 5th grade class used to draw girls that looked like that (only without the creepy blank, featureless samefaces and wizard hats), and I think he was actually better at it. I also think he's in jail now. This is amazing."

Jimquisition: Boob Wars and Dragon Crowns

Dragon's Crown has become the latest game involved in a big argument. Big boobs, burly dwarves, and Kotaku were all involved. Gender issues in games are important. They are worth thinking about. They are, contrary to po...

In defense of boobies photo
In defense of boobies
by Vito Gesualdi

Let me preface this article by stating a few simple facts. I am a young, white, American male who consumes vast amounts of pornography. As such, I am occasionally drawn to depictions of the female form which are perhaps outside the realm of realism, with silicone implants and soft lighting helping to emphasize certain erotic areas.

Am I ashamed of my interest in these depictions? About as ashamed as anyone might be when discussing their sexual interests. However, I am also a logically thinking adult who understands that real women don’t look anything like the bizarre sexual fantasies on my computer monitor, nor would I want them to.

Senran Kagura cell phone charms smell like breasts

The marketing of booby ninja school girl brawler series Senran Kagura is simply outrageous. Branded tissue boxes? Facepalm worthy. Themed desserts? Fairly creative. Cell phone charms? Well, that doesn't sound so bad... ... oh...

Scarlet Blade might be the most shameless F2P game yet photo
Scarlet Blade might be the most shameless F2P game yet
by Conrad Zimmerman

I don't know who it is that's responsible for pointing me in the direction of this video (it just appeared, totally anonymously), but I'd like to thank them for helping me realize that I hadn't yet seen the absolute worst that free-to-play games have to offer yet.

Scarlet Blade is a fantasy adventure MMORPG which seems entirely focused on women with extra-sexualized, impractical clothing and further "enhancing" it with ludicrous physics as they pertain to breasts. And breasts are everywhere (which makes sense, as all player characters are female), even on people who appear to be far below the age at which one would even be capable of producing them. And, for $20, you can set those jubblies loose and "unlock" their lingerie -- which seems as though it's really more about making you pay money if you ever want to equip anything useful than any titillation, but that certainly shouldn't stop anyone from selling objectification as a commodity.

It's just gross. Cheers to Niichts over at YouTube for having the courage to play this so that I didn't have to.

This new Shinovi Versus gameplay trailer is ridiculous

Review: Boob Wars: Big Breasts vs. Flat Chests photo
Review: Boob Wars: Big Breasts vs. Flat Chests
by Jim Sterling

[Warning: NSFW, even if censored, images following.]

"At the beginning of the 22nd Century, an anomaly began occurring in the bodies of women," so goes the tale of Boob Wars. "All the women of the world became either E Cups and up or A cups and under. 'Big Breasts' and 'Flat Chests' ... Due to their division into these two groups, the debate over which was superior began.

"After the first incident of armed conflict, known as the 'Nyuuhen Tragedy,' the entire world was split between the Big Breasts Tribe and the Flat Chests Tribe and an intense conflict ensued."

I have seen the conclusion of this story by playing Boob Wars: Big Breasts vs. Flat Chests. My reward? An overwhelming, intense feeling of self-loathing. I think I hate myself entirely, and I owe it all to the fine people at Manga Gamer.
