The list is, uh, interesting, right?
I was very excited when, at yesterday's E3 Conference, Xbox's Phil Spencer announced that "BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY!" was coming to Xbox One.
I thought that I'd be able to pander to nostalgia at a whim, grab any one of t...
Unless you're rocking a 2004 Razr
Man, so many people just want to dance in front of their video game consoles. You may scoff, but Just Dance is the most successful music franchise ever, so that statement applies to some folks. For those who haven't alr...
Backwards compatibility! Your move Sony
Well, that was a nice little conference! Microsoft didn't blow me away this year, but I enjoyed it as a whole, and so far, there have been no disasters of any kind on the level of Caffeine Man (Google it).
The biggest ne...
Natively playable on Xbox One
Phil Spencer just dropped a bombshell at Microsoft's E3 presser. Xbox One will be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games. By this holiday, 100 titles you've already purchased will be playable on Xbox One.
Microsoft used Mas...
Best Buy spills the beans again
Well, that was fast. Not a full day after it was leaked, Platinum Games has been confirmed as the developer behind the gorgeously cel-shaded Transformers: Devastation thanks to a premature Best Buy listing.
As well as confirm...
One must fall for these screens
A new Transformers game from Activision, Transformers: Devastation, has been leaked in the lead up to E3, and damn if it doesn't look like an 80's cartoon come to life. Someone better call Cosimano, I think he'll be excited.
Playing with bricks
The Cleveland Cavaliers jumped the gun a bit last night when they unleashed an avalanche of bricks, because Lego Jurassic Park didn't actually release until today. Bad basketball aside, Traveller's Tales' latest game lo...
Three levels in Early Access
Back in 2013, WayForward crowdfunded a new project by way of Kickstarter called Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, the fourth game in the storied Shantae series. It managed to raise almost a million dollars in funding, whic...
Catch a Ride
In life, sometimes it's best to celebrate the little victories. For instance, the forces of the universe have prevented me from attending E3 this year, but as a consolation, Telltale is releasing Tales from the Borderlands Ep...
Back in all her hair-whipping glory
Half-Genie Hero, the newest entry in the Shantae series, was funded on Kickstarter back in 2013. Today, WayForward released the E3 2015 trailer for the game, and it looks to be coming along quite nicely!
The trailer shows of...
First hands-on with Metal Gear Solid V
Trailers from as far back as two years ago offer evidence enough, though. Do you all remember the giant, on-fire man supplanted in malevolence seconds later by the even more giant, on-fire whale careening through the sky to ...
Black Ops 3 confirmed for old consoles
No matter what Activision says, warfare hasn't advanced all that far. That's evident by the fact that Black Ops 3 will release on legacy consoles, making it the eleventh Call of Duty title on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Okay, that was great
With LEGO Jurassic World on my mind, I had forgotten that TT Games also has LEGO Marvel's Avengers lined up for this year. It's not releasing until winter, but here's a trailer ahead of E3.
Save for a split-second shot of Ul...

[Update: A little digging on Twitter shows us that Tyrone Rodriguez from Nicalis and Samu Wosada of 8Bits Fantatics have been exchanging ninja graphics for a little while now. Samu also released a free game called Goody Bad H...
Exactly how I remembered it
Capcom just unleashed the first trailer and screenshots for its upcoming Resident Evil 0 remaster -- and hot damn does this thing look pretty. However, much like its predecessor, it's difficult to appreciate just how mu...
Last gen is 2000 and late
Matt Grandstaff, Bethesda's community lead has confirmed on NeoGAF that Fallout 4 will not be coming to last generation consoles. It had been a topic of contention since the game was revealed, but now the rumors can offi...
Check and check
If you're making a Star Wars game with pilotable ships, I'm going to want to zip around Hoth in a snowspeeder and tie knots around some AT-ATs. I'll also want to shoot down a bunch of TIE Fighters on my path to destroy the De...
Doing the right thing
Robert Summa just covered the news that Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing) is directing the campaign mode in the upcoming NBA 2K16. As some commenters pointed out, though, his story lacked a key fact that, really, deserves its ow...
Now that's an Air Bud
This GTA Online player looked to be dead in the water. The ground isn't much of an advantageous position to have when your enemy is floating in the sky. "Wasted" is imminent, right?
Not if your bestie has anything to say about it.
I was playing GTA:Online with a friend, and was pinned down by the cops. He helped out by being air support [reddit]
Fired employee tells all
[Update: Looks like this is most likely a hoax. The leaker said they had accidentally given information to Kotaku, which in turn caused her to get fired. Kotaku confirmed today that no information was ever given to them by th...
Uh, thanks but no thanks
A few Mighty No. 9 updates to talk about today. First, all launch-window versions of the game will come with the Retro Hero DLC, which gives protagonist Beck a blocky, weirdly Minecraft-esque appearance and, good lord, a one...
Lightning Returns is such a weird game. Given my many issues with XIII (less with XIII-2 though), I didn't think I'd enjoy it in the slightest. Funnily enough, it ended up being one of my favorite games of 2014.
Third time is a charm
Another year, another round of Call of Duty DLC -- four rounds, yet again, in the case of Advanced Warfare. We've already had the Havoc and Ascendance packs drop so far as part of the Season Pass, and while they weren't bad offerings, nothing about them really vied for a purchase.
With Supremacy, there may be a case for the pass, at the very least at a discount down the line.
For a change
After the initial reveal of Guitar Hero Live, Activision's been slowly unveiling ten songs a week to keep us interested. The only problem is that the vast majority of songs (and artists) are completely unknown to the majority...
Ratings boards strike again
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons was an emotional, memorable journey when it released two years ago. In fact, the twin-stick puzzler took a lot of people by surprise. As it turns out, it looks as if players will get to relive th...
And a shark
Activision's going through that awkward time of year where it's gearing up to make a big splash at E3 with it's new Call of Duty game, but it's not quite done promoting its old Call of Duty game. That's how we get trail...
And there's a lot of competition
When Tanya joins the Mortal Kombat X cast tomorrow, I think she'll bring with her my favorite Fatality I've seen so far. It's simple, elegant in a way. You know, as elegant as you can be while creating a person-sized ca...
Put a target on your back why don't you
Still messing around in Grand Theft Auto Online? Rockstar is adding some opulent vehicles next week under the "Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1" banner including, haha, a solid-gold helicopter and jet.
Someone should get Robin Leach to narrate.
It's a small world after all
Who knew that Disney's strange and bizarre mishmash of characters into one large game would turn out to be such a big hit? I know, a Disney title with a bunch of Pixar, film, and legacy characters would've sold regardless, bu...
Full reveal at Microsoft's E3 briefing
Lara Croft reaches the top of the ice wall after a probably-should-be-dead experience. She has several carabiners attached to her belt. Why didn't she use them on her way up? Granted, it wouldn't have helped if all of her an...
