Corpse Party returns to its PC birthplace with upcoming XSEED release

Corpse Party is one of my favorite horror series (even if it's a little tame at times) and I was thrilled to see it make its debut as a PSP cult hit back in 2011. Now, XSEED plans to bring the original Windows edition to life...

XSEED localizing Senran Kagura Bon Appétit this winter

Senran Kagura Bon Appétit will be cooking up a storm in North America this winter, XSEED Games announced today as a part of its E3 lineup. The PlayStation Vita rhythm game is a spin-off of Marvelous AQL's brawler ...

New Harvest Moon being localized as Story of Seasons

Call it stereotypical of me if you will, but I'm a huge fan of Harvest Moon and its spinoffs -- even the wannabe games. That's why I'm so excited to see Story of Seasons releasing via XSEED this upcoming winter. After 18 year...

Hashtag all filters: Akiba's Trip 2 has a weird editor on PS4

Akiba's Trip 2 is being ported to PS4 in Japan in a couple months (we get it on PS3 and Vita in August) and Acquire has some videos full of swimsuits and bouncing breasts to show off (below). There's also a weird "visual editor" (above) that lets you change sky color and, for some reason, all color. I get the Instagram "vintage" filter, but what's with the EVERYTHING IS GREEN filter?

Akiba's Trip 2 acquires a flashy PlayStation 4 trailer

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed is a game where you, erm, beat the clothes of vampires. You see, their skin is weak to sunlight, so forcibly removing their clothes makes perfect sense actually. Earlier this year, XSEED ...

XSEED is still localizing PSP games apparently

The PlayStation Vita has been on shelves for a couple years now, but that doesn't mean the PSP doesn't still deserve your love. After all, Sega shut down the Dreamcast over a decade ago, and people are still making new g...

XSEED keen on localizing more Senran Kagura games

XSEED boss Ken Berry once called the prospect of localizing Senran Kagura Burst a "scary proposition." Due to the title's subject matter and the conservative culture in the US, Berry surmised a western release had the "potent...

Arkham Knight, Goat Simulator, Shaq-Fu 2 & The Last of Us: The Movie photo
Arkham Knight, Goat Simulator, Shaq-Fu 2 & The Last of Us: The Movie
by Max Scoville

Sweet Christmas do we have some great news about video games today!

Let’s see… My previews for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes went up, a new Batman game was announced by Rocksteady, Batman: Arkham Knight, Watch Dogs finally has a release date, and there’s a new Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer. On a less fun note, Mad Catz announced a partnership with Ouya, and on a downright depressing note, Disney Interactive has laid off 700 employees.

However, there’s a bunch of crazy weird news: Shaq-Fu is (hopefully) getting a sequel, Goat Simulator is going to be an actual game, and Akiba’s Trip 2, a Japanese game about punching vampires till their clothes come off, will actually be released in the west. Finally, a couple pieces of movie news: there’s feature film in the works based on The Last of Us, which seems sort of redundant to me, but that new Transformers movie involves Optimus Prime living in Mark Wahlberg’s barn, which is even more ridiculous than robot dinosaurs.

PSA: Europe, you can play Ys: Memories of Celceta now

Ys: Memories of Celceta helped cap a strong fall for the Vita that no one paid attention to. Maybe the fragile Europeans will appreciate its belated-but-not-Atlus-belated release in their home continent.  Go play more fun Vita games, one and all.
